Bell TS5908
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Bell.
Serial number is: TS5908.
Last Inspected on: May 14, 1981.

On top of Watertrough Hill on the Bells Line of Road, the track is now only 4WD, but it is a short walk to the top.
It is well worth the effort as the view is truly amazing.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

A couple of passes (and a few passes in the past) before a parking space was assessed a goer. The 'mushroom is no gung-ho bush trekker, and at first look the GPSr indicated distance caused qualms. The fires had thinned out the undergrowth and as one progressed the trig appeared up higher framed in the green of young trees. A scrambled up the 'pagoda' and a vast vista is beyond Bell trig - in full pedestal, vanes and name plate glory. Marvellous! Bloody marvellous On a clear, windless and sunny Autumn day this location is a joy to behold ... the outcrop a lonely sentinel left unsinged to the fires that raged all around.
A great experience and an endorsement to seek trigs.
Initially beat rogerw3 as found it 1616, 27/2/1985. Booo yeah! , however all the photos of that era got tossed out ~15 years ago
A lovely evening for a bushwalk, and just had to take it a bit slower to make sure I got to the Lithgow event.
Nice cool breeze up here but the views are great.
According to my photo database I found and photographed this trig in July 2003. I created a waymark in Jan 2010.
