Description
Trig Point at historic site of Wrattens Forestry Camp
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
This Trig point is set adjacent to the most northern stand of natuarally occuring southern Bunya Pines. There are wild deer in this area and you'll hear Glossy Black Cockatoos, Wedgetail Eagles, Bell Birds and Whip Birds songs echo as you search for the trig point as well as rare species like the Yellow Bellied Sugar Glider and Eastern Quoll can be found in this area. The area of the Trig Point was once a Forestry Campers camp. There are reports of Yowies seen in this area by former forestry workers. The Trig Mark is on an alternate route through to Gympie from the Nanango to Goomeri Road. Note if coming from Goomeri, it's all Bitmumen Road, via Kinbombi Falls, from the the West (Nanango - Goomeri Rd via Manumbar) there are portions of gravel road, the last 3ks to the trig point is gravel; from the East, a lengthy gravel road drive into the trig point and you can access this area from the South via Kilcoy (& Landcruiser Mtn Park) on gravel. This Trig Point is adjacent to the intersection with Black Snake Road, and you can drive to the Trig Point marker. A 2WD can make this trip, but beware if it is wet. Also in this area is the Barambah Evironmental Education Centre, a school camp by ED Qld.

Logs
and headed back to this camp to find the trig point
I already knew where it was.
I had found it a couple of days ago !!
So today I had me camera with me to take the photo
It is 5.7klm from here to GZ. There had been recent rain and the road was a little wet but my 2WD handled it ok. Would not reccomend this road for a low clearance 2wd. There is evidcence of a camp fire near the red and white survey pegs. I know this area well and lucky I know a lot of short cuts. GPSr had me closer to the survey pegs than the concrete clock with the PSM embedded in it. Did not take long to get back to the Murgon Kilcoy road and head towards Brisbane. PHOTOS Attached
