Spotted on our LGA hunting drive from Inverell to Tamworth, Kyogle and back to Armidale....

06-Aug-24
stopped in town to top up the pantry and have a quick look about on the way through

18-Apr-23
We were up at the lookout having lunch and managed to find the rare sight of a trig point actually being used for some sort of surveying exercise. Not sure what they were doing with it but they had a few theodolites set up.

The kids thought is was pretty cool anyway.

Thanks for the trig point listing.

A quick stop for lunch in Glen Innes. I decided to eat somewhere pretty so stopped at the standing stones. Last time I was there it was the day before or after the summer solstice. Today is the day before the winter Solstice. And noon is 15 minutes away so I might stick back down there to see the second longest winter noon shadow at one of the stones.

Just ducked up the hill to check out the lookout and found a trig. Nice

Day 32 Mainland trip
On the move from Uralla to Tenterfield we stopped in Glen Innes to locate ths trig. A great view from the lookout. Plenty of room to turn around at the top. The required photo has been added to the gallery. TFTT

Wow I have been visiting Glen for about 20 years and have never been here to see this lookout. TFTC

18-Jan-19
This one was so close to the CORS - so convenient. We snapped the required pic and had a gander at the town from the lookout. It's so dry at the moment, but Glen Innes was the greenest town we'd passed through.

#GA2986 - 08:00; Day two of a trip to the Gold Coast and after a quiet night in Glen Innes, I headed off to grab a couple of the local trigs. Well, that turned into more of an adventure than it should have been. The GPSr took me down a goat track where I decided that discretion was the better part of valour and left the geomobile on the track before scaling the last couple of hundred metres up the steep 4WD playground track. Reached the top, only to find a paved road which I could have taken had the GPSr been a little friendlier. Anyway, grabbed a snap of the trig and headed around the corner for the CORS. Logging 12/9/16 Embarassed
Seems I forgot to log a few trigs found months ago! I was heading north to find a few waymarks, so I could on filling up the Waymarking Calendar, and had already logged the find for the Australian Trig Point, waymarking category, but missed this site.
While this trig is missing the post and vanes, and the frequent black cover of the mounting screws, it does have the name plate at least, on this concrete pedestal. Nice views of Glen Innes!

Super views from up here! TFTTP!
Cheers,

09-Apr-15
Brilliant views from this trig, our photo has the view of the town in it as well as the trig.

06-Apr-15
Heading south from the mega event on our way back to Sydney, while we didn't have to make it in one day and in fact only got as far as Gloucester before a big storm rolled in it was never going to be a big geocaching run, just a chance to add some more dots to the map rather than trying to hit every cache along the way.

3 caches for the price of 1 up the hill today, we had never driven to the top before for the nice view. Found the base but with it's plaque gone.

31-Mar-15
Spotted while in the area chasing other caches. No problems getting up close....

09-Mar-15
Found with the Shifter Brains after visiting the local attraction. Nice views up here.

01-Jan-15
Found by Sunshine Toledo Her Majesty at 10:20am. We were here yesterday looking at the Standing Stones but didn't get to the lookout. TFTC

27-Oct-13
3 GCA cache finds and a GC one, all from the pne parking spot - good stuff.

03-Jul-13
GPS wanted to send us up a boggy dirt road to this one. Ignored it and eventually found a bitumen access right to it. First for the day. Thanks.

18-Jun-13
Arrived at top of road and parked. Found out after I had walked all the way around that I could have driven. Nice view. Bit windy and cool. TFTC

15-Jan-13
This was a 2 in 1 with the CORS just around the corner. Lovely view at 7.00pm, didn't even know Glen Innes had a lookout.

30-Dec-12
Beautiful day to enjoy the views of Glen Innes today. No one about on a lazy Sunday.

06-Jul-12
We were pleased that we came to this location as it gave us excellent views over Glen Innes - a very worthwhile place to visit. The photo added to the Gallery contains two images: the first is of one of us at the trig point; the second image is of the identification plate on the pedestal of the trig point. TFTC

Stopped to get this trig travelling through Glen Innes on the way to Grafton. Cold wind and temperature, didn't linger. Nice views of the town.

11-Apr-12
Found with blossom* - fabulous view

11-Apr-12
I'd been to this park before and never realised that there was a trig just a bit further up the road. What a fabulous view from up here

28-Mar-12
Found while waiting for sunset at the Standing Stones

09-Dec-11
Drove up to this one today. Passed an attractive park on the way.

Good views watching the storm roll in to hammer our poor little tent but the lightning, thunder and rain was impressive!!! Thanks

03-Feb-11
On my way up the hill to find this trig point, I found meself surrounded Shocked
I was encircled by stones Laughing
After finding a gap in their imposing bulks I made a beeline for the top of the hill to find me a lovely lookout over the township of Glen Innes.
And like all good views this one had a trig point in the middle of it Cool

PS: you can avoid the stones and just drive up the hill to this trig if you wish Sad

05-Jan-11
Sorting through holiday photos and remembered that I forgot to log this trig... We were checking out the area, and I had a hunch that it would be worth following the road to the top. I was right Smile Shame about the weather Wink

16-Aug-10
Toowoomba 10.4. This time my drive to the top of this hill was rewarded with a un-registered trig. Thanks.
