Webb TS4688

Serial number is: TS4688.
Last Inspected on: December 4, 1996.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

I couldn't find any remains of the trig station. Will go back and take another look.
We took the steep walk up from Mulbong Ave, made even steeper by the bush bash required after we started on the wrong track.
Nice views up here, just a shame about all the houses packed in together.
There's not a lot of the trig point left, just a rock construction and the remains of an old wall between the two big rocks.
Glad we finally got to this one as we have been eyeing it off for a while

3 gc.com finds today - Blackwall & Umina Beach (via Patonga) - all 3 by BFJ.
Plus this GCA makes 4 finds.
Last day of the Easter long weekend up the coast and after getting a few urban hides in Woy Woy yesterday, it was time for a change of pace and some higher terrain bush caches. "Plodfoot's Revenge" was the main course for today's mission, but I started up here with a couple of appetisers.
Found "Rock Tunnel" and "Forgotten Lookout" and then on the walk back to the car I saw this trig. Assumed it was probably a GCA cache, so I took a photo. With that done, I headed back down to the car and headed off to find "Plodfoot's Revenge". TFTC.
} : )
I had found Forgotten Lookout on the way up, and afterwards had fun hunting for "Rock Tunnel", until I came across someone sleeping off New Years celebrations in a cave too close to GZ. Found Webb trig @ 0940.
The local Council seems to have gotten most of the graffiti off of the rock cairn. Took a few photos. Shame about the lose of the plaque/?Orientation Table.
Anyway blue graffiti is not only on the Trig but on many rocks and caves in the area. Some white graffiti even older is starting to fade. There are great views from this location and its not too far away from an old lookout near to which is a GC cache my next destination.
A bit of a walk uphill to this unusual Trig, as is a sandstone blocks construction that seem to have had an orientation plate on top, but now long gone.
Great views from the top, well worth the walk up to this spot.
