Description

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

Heading to Melbourne for 2 days with LuckyL10n and we (finally) found the way up here to find both this one and its mate. Just a small disc for this one, however the photo is in the bag and the rest is of course history.

Thanks for yet another trig....

Pushed the bike up the Butt Butt trail from the other side, only to see that there was a car park up here!!! Great ride down though..

So what was on the books today, well simple to pick up Ahomburgs phone, silly bugger left it in skullracing's car after some mid drive cramps back to our campsite. Well now we had to had to drive north in order to pick it up. So that is why i am up in that corner of the world, and whilst starting a rather painful multi within the area I noticed that there were not one but 2 trigs up on this hill. Fantastic now I can go out and get more of my loved trigs. So now that is all done thanks for the cache and the amazing views

A brisk walk up the hill and we were greeted by a welcoming party, who refused to move as we passed by. Took some great photos taken of the locals, but I wont post them here. Spent some time looking at the view and trying to identify some of the features of the Army Base. My husband loves anything military.

After finding Huons No. 1 trig, and a couple of caches, then I walked on up to check on this one. Oh, it is a survey disk, with common form quadrapod removed. Took a couple of photos @ 1415. Then back on the road to get back to Taree.

A great view with a sharpish little climb from the car park. The wind was seriously gusty and decidedly bracing so the skies were clear and we felt we could see the whole world, well at least the whole Albury/Wodonga world. We drove along the access road to the hill and if I were to return here I would consider walking up from the river. Anway the place is a great place to bring a map and survey the world and to admire all those tiny people and cars bustling about below.

I was up this way for a couple of days of work and decided to mosie up to Mt Huon for the trigs. This was the first of them and was a quick find at 16:35.

Some great views near the marker. Very Happy

Thanks Delta-squad.

Popped up here to grab the 2 trigs after spending the night in Wodonga. Great views of Albury, some parts in fog. Cold morning so didn't linger...

While doing the rounds for the Mega Event activites, I headed up this hill for one of the questions. Only on the way back down did I realise the trig-nificance of this hill.

Thanks

The following paragraph was the log I used to describe what at the time was a locationless find on 3 April 10. This object is now a trig so will claim a find for the trig.

"These co-ords were given by GeoScience Australia as belonging to Huons Hill trig however it was on the opposite hill. The co-ords lead to this directional marker not far from Albury. A bit overcast today but a good view especially for spies as there is an army base below".

This is undoubtedly the very best view of the local area of Albury/Wodonga you could possibly get. Posted photos of the survey mark and some of the surrounding area. Survey mark number "11 132". Breathtaking on such a beautiful day. Cheers.

This Trigpoint was originally listed as 'Huons Hill'. The co-ords were then changed to that of Huons No.1. I created this listing to hopefully clear up the confusion. Apologies to DJ Rascal who was FTF this trig.
