Description

Royal Australian Survey Corps 'H 151'

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

International Geocaching Day 2024
It worked in well that it was my weekend off and so I decided on making a day of Geocaching. Throughout the day it rained on and off but never when I was out of my car finding the Caches. I woke up early and headed to Albury for the event down there. Before arriving at the event, I stopped off at the Ettamogah Pub for the virtual and AL. Then I headed over to the event. It was great fun talking all things Geo. Next, I headed up Monument Hill to find a cache up there and then over to Subway to get something to eat. Now time to head to the Wagga event but of course Geocaching along the way. Most of these finds were AL’s but there were a couple of others in the mix. I arrived at the Wagga event just before it started. Lunch and all talk Geo was had. It was great to catch up with everyone again. Now to pick something up and then go shopping. Last but not least, I found one more cache before heading home. It was a great day out and I’m glad I got to do it. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTE’s and TFTC’s! Big Grin

Apologies for cut and paste but I am feeling a little weary.

I have to admit to going a little stir crazy at home, so I have decided to go for a bit of a drive to pick up some LGAs that are sadly lacking finds on my map. This is the second for today and was not easy to locate and photograph as the vegetation was very high. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyVery HappyClan CerberusClan Cerberus

Not too difficult a find. In amongst a herd of cattle in the lane to eat the grass down. A lot of cow dung to be dodged.

Headed to GZ then realised there was no close access to this Survey Marker trig. I finally spotted it next to a post about 10m from the fence. I wasnt prepared to trespass, so took a photo from the fence line and attached a screenshot of my phone GPS showing the distance away from it.

Started at Bathurst bright and early for a bit of a trip down south, have a few trigs picked up to go after, got a relaxing trip as have to be back home on Saturday see how far I can go & how many trigs I can get photos of on the trip. This was the seventh stop on the third day was a trig called Kirndeen not very often do you find a trig as a Survey Marker and took the required photo once I found a spot to shoot from. Thanks for the trig Geocaching Australia. Clan Phoenix

We have been sorting through photos taken during our previous mainland trip and we came across our photo of the unusual Kirndeen Trig Point. The unusual feature is that it was measured and put into location by the Royal Australian Survey Corps. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. Thanks Geocaching Australia for the cache.

#GA724 - 15:10; On the return leg of our trip to the Melbourne Mega with Sol de lune and Albida33 and this trig was on the 'to do' list for Sdl and I as we made a short detour through Culcairn. Parked the geomobile near GZ and after a short search, soo had the happy snaps we need for our logs. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Been a while since this one was found, but with LuckyL10n and I on the way home from the Melbourne Event, we call past and soon had our photo of the "Trig" in hand.

I was expecting a typical trig point "tower" but found a TP more like a benchmark instead. The abbs has installed a temporary fence and the TP is now inside the boundary. I had to jump the fence to get a decent photo.

This was my 100th GCA find.

I waded through the long grass to get this one. No climbing here. Albida
