A surprise find during a walk of the Moonrise Loop. No nameplate anymore, but otherwise it’s doing ok.
A pleasant walk on this day in the low 20s. So much nicer than yesterday's 40C. TFTC.

#GA2532 - 16:20; Day two of a caching run to the Blue Mountains with Sol de lune. After making our way through to Katoomba yesterday, the plan for today is to head a bit further west as far as Mount Victoria before heading east again through Medlow Bath, Katoomba (again), Leura, Wentworth Falls, Hazelbrook and Woodford, before heading on to the Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) at Horsley Park for some new caches, then hit the road for home. After plenty of wandering in the bush up in the mountains, with a bit of urban caching thrown in too, along with a prearranged meeting with alnic39, we were now back closer to sea level and had reached SIEC. After collecting a couple of trads, we grabbed our water bottles and headed along the trail for a few more. I had missed this trig on my earlier visit to the area and Sdl had picked it up on a later visit. I was pleased to finally make it here for a find today. TFTT Geocaching Australia

A nice walk out here, as usual where there is a trig there is a view. There is many tracks around here – which 1 to take. Thanks.

Forgot all about this one! I was hunting down the 'ginger meggs' GC cache following the tracks to come across this trig. Easy find once at the co-ords for this
When I went passed this spot on my walk fro Lizard Log car park to the equestrian centre there were two people hugging near the trig. Decided to get it on the way back. So back I came a bit slower than when I went out, the best thing was from that point it was nearly all down hill. Got the required photo it appears that someone has got at the recently painted pedestal with charcoal and has written John 3:16. Thanks for the trig

Nice and quiet here today just a few families about having picnics. It was a nice walk up to the trig along well formed pathways and tracks.

Left Canberra nice and early for one final run around Sydney. Second stop for the day and the it was neat walk up to the trig. Have been here a few times watching the wife do her thing, but first time up to this point. Great day to be out.....
Trig found and all good.

Had a nice but very wet walk to this one. Not visible unless you get within 10 meters! Due to rain and clouds not much of a view today

Parked at a (Sunday?) locked gate and took the longer than needed walk on a mild winter's morn, A slog uphill to the trig, still standing sans name plate and with some graffiti on its white coat. The track back was a pleasant trek through the reserve.

Trig number 3 for today's Trig hunt with pjmpjm.
We parked as close as we could and stated along a selection of tracks that took us right to the Trig, in the end it turned out to be a very straightforward walk to the top of the hill, with a great view from the top.
This Trig as suffered over the years, the mast and vanes are long gone and the name plaque has been souvenired, but otherwise in good condition.

Third trig of the day with rogerw3. We were on another trig hunting expedition in the Prospect area west of Sydney.
Parked off Cowpasture Road because we weren't sure if we could transit the park from either Melville Trig or Bonnyrigg Trig in our vehicle. Took us a bit of time to walk to the top of the right hill but we encountered no major problems.
A few GC traditionals nearby added to the fun.
Trig is missing post, vanes, and side name plaque and has been somewhat vandalised. Nice views.

We too followed the road, then took the turn off to the Ginger Meggs Memorial, then we tried to follow track but ran into a fence. A few scratches from the fence and the overgrowth and we found other tracks that led close then a quick bush bash.
Took a quick photo.
On the way back the tracks were obvious, of course!?!

This trig looked quite approachable on Google Earth with tracks everywhere although I thought it could have been on private land. Actually it's in Western Sydney Regional Park and we approached it after finding Melville trig nearby. This one looked more interesting as it was on the ground rather than on top of a water tank. The car GPS charted a course through the park but there was a locked gate about 900m from GZ (even though it said it was closed at 7pm) so we went on foot from there.
On the way we passed an abandoned fibro house - some smart folks must have thought it would be clever to get a mouthful of asbestos by kicking the panels in at some stage. The road went on and away but there was a track to the "Ginger Meggs Memorial" which we followed, intrigued. Ginger Meggs is usually at home in Hornsby so we wondered what this would be. It's a memorial to a faithful dog - the story is on the plaque which I photographed, interesting story.
Kept on the track until it suddenly ended, climbed up the hill a little, went through a fence and found another track which more or less led past the trig and then went up the hill to it. We found it at the top of course but the poor thing has no mast or plaque but has at least been painted recently. There is a great view of the whole of eastern Sydney from there so I recommend it. Pity the trig's not in better nick.
