Logs

26-Nov-22
After a day out at the nearby waterslide park, we shot out before dinner for some trigs. This is one we couldn't get yesterday as we had forgotten the 'trig camera'....

21-May-22
Fairly quiet here this afternoon as the weather wasn't to good. Went up to George Maunder Lookout and was able to get a look at the trig from a distance only.

25-Oct-20
we found it pretty hard to get close to this one, not sure if the roads are normally this shut down or if it was because they were filming a movie in the reserve, did the best we could anyways. nice little sanctuary in the middle of the city here.

28-Dec-19
Quiet today in the industrial area, so ideal to photograph this trig. TFTC.

21-Jan-19
Down this way and stopped in for a trig find Wink

31-Dec-18
Bit hard to access this road now but it's visible. Nice to find another one before the event.

20-Dec-18
This is the best shot I could get using the phone.

02-Nov-18
Took the slight detour today to here – this area is a nice place to visit. I took a distance shot as it was a hot day and as the road is closed and a sign saying not to enter. As it was a hot wind today the only difficulty was taking the shot with the trees swaying in front of the trig – thanks again Clan Griffin

27-Feb-18
While climbing the hill I realised that it was a reservoir and that I wouldn't be able to get any closer than the fence, 200 meters away.

07-May-17
Nice easy photo from the road after hiking the fruit trail. TFTT

30-Jun-16
I've driven past a few times now not realizing you can spot this trig straight from the car. A quick shot stopping roadside to log the find! TFTC

27-Mar-16
Whilst taking the dog out for a walk (well it's called caching for me) the geokids were the first to spot this one. Not a brilliant photo but it's there.

13-Sep-15
found while driving around the Prospect area. About the only spot where there is a clear view of the trig

12-Sep-15
Found with phlphotos on big day of caching

28-Jul-15
This is still in Blacktown...bit of a drive from the last one. But of course I have no idea about the local boundaries.

Driving in along the road I saw the trig and grabbed my photos from there. No problems and all was good. Looks like a great park area!

25-May-13
I was in this area after a few other caches & spotted this one from the road. So I quickly pulled over & took some photos.

I think I spotted a CORS station close by this one, might have to investigate that later.

21-Oct-12
Was out collecting a few caches nearby and spotted this trig station. The access road is closed to the public so resorted to this shot from the main thoroughfare.

16-Sep-12
Was working in the new estate below this point and looked up an thought ahh trig. - I believe there is also a new electronic trig on the building just north of this

01-Apr-12
Got to this one with pjmpjm doing the driving, he had been here previously so it was an easy find.
Typical reservoir Trig, steel tube framework with mast and vanes over the steel post.
Got there just as the rain started to fall very gently at first but soon turned into a deluge.

Well we got a shot in the end from a bit over 100 metres away which might not be kosher but at least we could see it. Hard to get a good pic with the wires. The road to the top looks like it's been closed for good. We walked up to the lower lookout past the "no unauthorised vehicles" gate but then there was another gate with "no unauthorised personnel" so we couldn't justify going past that one.
Will post the pics when I get the photos off the camera phone.

18-Feb-11
Having read the earlier online logs, I was reconciled at not being able to drive right up close to this one. And so it proved to be -- there was a locked gate across the driveway.

Plan B was finding a spot on the adjacent road down to the water that allowed a view up to the reservoir high on the hill, where no trees obscured the view.

I did in fact get an excellent angle from the roadside, but it was one of the most distant trig photos I've ever taken. I could see the trig quite clearly 'in real life' but the iPhone camera photo doesn't show do it justice.

I've tried to do a 'blow up' of the shot, but it's not as good as I would have liked.

Anyhow, this trig is here and alive and well!

14-Jan-11
We could see this from the main road at the bootom as the road up is closed and has been for a while. We by-pass the gate on foot to get WP1 of "Pheasant Plucker" in July last year!?!

I think a white Trig Station on a clear, sunny day does not photgraph well with a cheap camera!?!

12-Dec-10
Arrived about 4:15 but for some reason the road up to the top picnic area and the water tanks was locked off today which it hasn't been on my previous visits. I could see it in the distance so hopefully the road closure isn't permanent.
