Two big caching days in a row to find some specific caches in the Hornsby and North Sydney area. Great weather and reasonable traffic made for an excellent day! This is one of the trigs picked up along the way.

Today I cycled from Chatswood to the Sydney CBD, main goal was to do the North Sydney Cycleways Series by Zalgariath, the rest being logged is collateral damage (I mean finds Smile

Quick snap from the other side of the road.

#GA763 - 15:30; Sol de lune and I had decided that double points month made a flying day trip to Sydney to grab some more trigs and perhaps a GeGnome or two a worthwhile adventure. An itinerary was hastily prepared and today was to be the day. We had completed a good part of the prepared itinerary, but it had been a bit ambitious, so we decided to abandon it at this stage and collect as many caches in the Willoughby and North Sydney areas before heading back across the bridge for a few more southside on the way home. This one was not as easily spotted as its near neighbor, but the wind moved the tree limbs obscuring the view of the trig just enough to get the required happy snap. Grabbed with LuckyL10n during our day run to Sydney chasing a few pesky GeGnomes along with a few Trigs...

Windy part of the day and although I waited a while, the trees wouldn't part for me and therefore my photo's are the best. LuckyL10n had better luck and his photo should show the neat red trig. Sometimes, it just like that. My photo's are attached, but you need to really squint....TFTT

With a bit of time to spare I wanted to get a few more Trigs under my belt.

Hard to get a shot of this one, you need to be well far back to see it. Another Res Trig Gone and a 2 for 1 here with the tower.

Last for the day, this was difficult to find a parking spot & to find a spot to take a decent photo, wish I had a chain saw sometimes for these, (only joking Shhhhhhh) thanks.

Bit hard to see in the dark but it's there

I passed the corner and headed down the opposite road until I could get a clear view of the trig on the top of the tower - from beside the towers I had no hope of seeing it - even from across the road. Then it was a matter of zooming in to get a pic - just visible thru the tree branches outside the church.

Drove past. Pulled up and walked across the road. Finally managed to get a good shot.

A busy road; mad motorists; what more could an intrepid geocacher want? This one took me a while to find the right angle, but eventually the lovely ochre spot was visible.

A bit tricky to find the right angle to take a shot of the trig, but it can be done and you can get a decent view of it. Lovely shade of red, or is it burn orange?

I needed a find for today, so stopped to grab this trig as it is close to work. Like others have found it's hard to get a good view though it's easy to see as you drive up the highway from the south.

I parked in the road behind the pub and took the pic from in front of the church. Hopefully I managed to get the trig and my head in the same shot. It's on the camera in the work car so will upload it tomorrow when I download all the work shots I took today.

I'll admit straightaway that this is worst official trig photo I've ever taken -- and I've taken 109 of them!

However, I circled the Artarmon block for more than half and hour, searching for Yurt's 'church yard' and the best I could do was a partially tree-shielded view of the bright red disk from Mowbray Road. I could see the trig on top of the large green reservoir quite clearly with my naked eyes -- no mistake -- but the photo leaves a lot to be desired.

So let it not be said that this one was a quick drive by!

11-Jan-11
I hadn't realised this trig had been found already (on Xmas day no less!) so on my way home from the airport I pulled up in a street off Mowbray Road past the Great Northern Hotel and walked back. I could see the distinctive red vanes of the trig through the foliage high on the water tank but getting a spot to take a photo took some doing. There was a gap in the trees and if you stand in the church grounds you can get a shot.

Funny thing about this trig I was sitting at these lights some weeks ago when I noticed the water tanks and thought there might be a trig up top. Checked on Google Earth and confirmed it and was going to publish when lo and behold it was done!

EDIT: wow my phone camera photos are just awful! Must take some proper ones on a proper camera when next in the area.

Boy this took some finding. I had to park illegally and then walk some to get a good picture. It was worth it to get a FTF though.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all cachers out there.
