Logs
Two big caching days in a row to find some specific caches in the Hornsby and North Sydney area. Great weather and reasonable traffic made for an excellent day! This is one of the trigs picked up along the way.

With a day off, what better way to spend it than to get out and find some unfound trigs. Thanks GA, love the trigs.

After all the rain that we have had around Sydney over the last few days it has been good to have a bit of nice weather today. Decided on a drive up the Central Coast & Lake Macquarie after some of the trigs along the way where there are a few clumps around. In the end I got to 26 trigs after that there was a long drive and I ended up getting home at about 8pm.
The sixth one I looked for was Bywater
Thanks for the trig took the required photo

Another typical reservoir trig. Beacon in quad frame above a rooftop mast. The spraycan kids are game here, having got to the vanes with a yellow tag.

After the very interesting day I'd had walking around Muogamurra Nature Reserve, these two trigs weren't exactly all that inspiring. It was the first time I'd managed to get two of them in one shot however.

#GA1262 - 11:40; This was the first stop on day 2 of a caching mission with Sol de lune in and around Sydney. Parked the geomobile at the gate and made our way along the path. Did a bit of exploration at the power lines, but luckily, then red richary's log, continued along the path and reached the formed path that took us all the way to GZ. Grabbed a snap of the gropund level trig, then this one on the water tank before heading back down to continue the mission. TFTC Geocaching Australia

Out with LuckyL10n for a couple of days caching in the area and this was our first stop today. We parked at the gate and walked, heading past the spot where Richary went up and found the other track he mentioned. No problems walking up this track and we where soon in view of both of both the trigs.
This was the second of the two trigs and the required photo was soon snapped...

Turned up today to find the gate open, one of the rare times you can actually drive into this reserve which is normally closed. However being put off by the advertised $10 per adult charge I decided to park over the road and walk in. As it turns out wherever they charge the money was a lot further in and I could have driven all the way to GZ. It's funny how what looks like a track on google satellite view turns out to be an overgrown slightly cleared area under power lines, so I battled this up to the top where I could see the twin trigs. Of course with a perfectly good vehicle track just behind them leading back down to the road about 100 metres past where I had branched off! But still nice to get 2 for the price of 1 here.
After visiting the Muogamarra Nature Reserve with Shankspony (and having found Lloyd Trig), we stopped off on the drive out to find Vize Trig and found this one as a bonus.

A stop off on the way to Lloyd trig. Found at 9:48 am.

A great little walk up to this track rewarded me with a second trig point.

For a while it looked like we were going to have a bit of a crowd here today. After waiting for the gates to open all the cars headed of.
Blossom had worked out that we would grab this one first so when we got to the track junction and turned off for this the cars behind started to follow.
Strike-a-light stopped them luckily. A nice area and good to have two trigs so close together.

A long-awaited find with the NP finally open to the public for 4 weekends in spring
After waiting quite a few months to be allowed access to the NP, we headed straight up to the two trigs. This turned out to be a really lucky stop-off as there were a lot of really lovely plants in flower here, including a magnigificent waratah with 3 gorgeous flower heads. Top spot in spring for sure

Found this very nice Trig after a short walk from the Pacific Highway with pjmpjm who as usual was the designated driver. Also very close by is the old Vize Trig!
The view from up there is something else, too bad the access is restricted.

After finishing work in Dural, I drove for about 40 minutes to reach this trig -- not realising that I was actually going to Brooklyn! I thought this one was located in Cowan . . . hmmmmm.
Anyhow, I neither carefully read Yurt's log nor the sign on the gate, so boldly walked up the fire trail (or driveway) to the reservoir and got a nice photo of the trig, plus one of the nearby railway-style water tank.
Only when I returned and read the 'fine print' on the entry sign did I realise that it was 'entry by permit' only. In my hurry to reach the trig before dark, I only read what I thought was an ordinary trail sign. Checking Yurt's log when I returned home confirmed the error of my ways.
Don't know what to say about this access problem. How else can you even see the trig? It's not visible at all from the Pacific Highway, although it's only about 100 metres up from the cutting.
I had thought, looking at the Google Maps satellite view, that I could even completely by-pass the driveway and grab a photo of By-water from the roadside, by golly . . . but the steep terrain and heavy tree cover makes this impossible.
It's a standard reservoir type trig, easy to photograph from nearby, and I'll upload my ill-gotten photos in an hour or so.

Went for a drive on Xmas eve to escape some of the madness and went to check this out as we were on the old highway and it was in the GPSr. Pulled up at the gate to the nature reserve and went around the gate up the old road which took us past GZ until a trail led us back to the large green water tank with the typical black trig on top. Nearby there's an old railway-style water tank too - no markings on it though. On the way back out we read the signs by the gate and realised it was entry by permit only ( ). I looked it up and it's only open for about 6 weeks each spring so that may be the only chance to do this trig.
