Description
Lovely views from Saddleback Mountain Rd
Despite being on what appears to be a private farm, this Trig Point can be seen from the fence line.

The Son-in-law was working just up the road from here today and needed a key dropped off to him, so my Belle brought me along with the grandies to show me the views. We took the back road from Jambaroo. It was a beautiful drive. Was part of what we travelled the old highway? The really old stone buildings we passed seemed very familiar. Then we started heading up a hill, and up and up. I thought, I wonder if...
I opened the good old trusty NSW Trigs map and saw there was a trig right beside the road we were going up. My Belle, knowing how much I have liked finding trigs for years, noticed the name of a farm as we passed it, Trig Farm, and pointed out the name to me. I laughed because that was exactly the farm where the trig I was looking at on the map was. I was a little nervous about asking her to stop for photos at first because some of my kids kind of don't like the way I stop for geocaching with them. However, we returned along this road and I got the guts up to ask if we could stop. Of course she was more than happy to. She was even wondering why I hadn't asked the first pass. She said she knows how much I love that kind of thing. So photos were taken of the farm sign, the trig with a kookaburra perched on it (it was real), and the views from just a little back down the road, one with a kangaroo wondering wtf I was doing. My phone camera does not do the views justice - you'll just have to come here to see them for yourself. I did forget to get a photo of myself there though. In my defence, I was THAT CLOSE to running late for an event in Austinmer which I arrived at with 3 minutes to spare.
Fun fact: Apparently Hamish Blake lives on this road too. His driveway was pointed out to me as the Son-in-law has worked there too.

I thought there'd be a trig on Saddleback but was surprised to see there wasn't. Looking at the map, I saw that I'd passed one, however, on the way up so I stopped on my way back to Kiama ... although it can't be seen from the road, I was able to get a photo of the trig from a gate into the paddock and another one through the bushes.
A little surprised and kind of pleased that this trig has been unfound for so long. Enjoyed the drive up from Kiama High School while staying in town for the week. Peered through the brush fence from Saddleback Mountain Road and spotted and photographed the trig with no one around at 1645 this afternoon.
Thanks for another trig!

I saw that the gate was open to the property and saw a couple at the frame of their new home. I waved and approached then introduced myself and ask them if I could see the trig. They were very friendly and knew of people who travel around looking for trigs. They did mention that there is a gate on the high side of the property that is unlocked (for the surveyors to access). However, the couple have a caravan very close to the gate and the trig. This couple are building a house with the most spectacular view that I have ever seen for a house. Truly amazing. See photo. They even told me that surveyors were in a couple of months ago to use the trig to triangulate with the others in the valley to survey lands down below. I wish I had been there to see that. Like I said, they owners are very welcoming and were happy for me to walk up to the trig and take photos. One of the best!

This is a scenic road. Well worth coming here for the drive. The trig was hard to see from the road, even though it's so close. I pushed my way through the vegetation beside the road until I reached the wire fence and then I had a good view of the trig to photograph. That vegetation has sure grown since the earlier photographs. TFTC.

What a fantastic view, as block for sale went in for a look. You can buy your land complete with a trig.

#GA635 - 09:30; Sol de lune and I had discussed a wild trig hunt in the Illawarra quite a while ago and today was the day we tried to bring home the bacon. I had picked up my first, which Sdl had previously found, followed by our first joint find for the day. We then headed down the hill and up another to find ourselves at this trig. Snap shots taken, it was back to the geomobile before heading off down into the town and more finds along the coast. TFTC Geocaching Australia

A day trip with LuckyL10n down to The Gong to gather up a few GCA caches. No problems here....although the trees seem to have grown.

Can't see this Trig from the road anymore due to the bush along the edge of the road. Nice views from the sides of the road out to the coast north and south.

Out this way today. The honda civic had a tough time getting up the hill though it got there. Great views nearby and the weather was just brilliant. Found the trig quickly thanks for bringing me here.
I am still surprised how many of these trigs are found! Pure luck? through some websites? Never mind I am happy to find very close to home and very close to a cache of myself!

Took the opportunity to grab this one on the way back from Jerrara. A tree had fallen over the road but squeezed through. Tootawallin sounds like some of the caches around Wagga. Thanks.

After doing a nearby gc.com cache, they mentioned a trig point further up the mountain. I drove up and after a brief search found the trig point. It can be viewed from the road (about 20m) so no need to go past the fence.
