A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

Found on a walk from Gosford to Lisarow. Concrete plinth with plaque and vanes missing, the state survey mark recessed into the rock has been spray painted bright yellow since the last time I was up here.

The last time I was in the vicinity was when we were bushwalking along the main trail nearby with some other families ~5 years ago. We came up to the picnic spot at the end of the trail which passes this trig for a morning snack, spotting the trig of course then, but then also finding a now archived geocache nearby at the picnic area. Today I decided to come back up here for a Sunday afternoon stroll to get the photo. I came in this time from the end of Clyde Rd. It's a nice walk once you get passed the steep section at the start. A lovely section of bush up this way. The trig itself is in very poor condition. I also found the coords to be off by ~14m. Used the GPS to get some updated coords which I have added to my log. In saying all that.. you can't miss it. TFTC.

We took the pleasant walk along Toomeys Road, an easy stroll out to the old TrigPoint which is in better condition than most on the coast. The firetrail that takes you almost to GZ is in very good condition.

Nice bush-walk only about 15 minutes from the car.

18-Apr-18
After finding oodles of trigs at sea level around Lake Macquarie it was back to uphill trigs around Gosford, almost like home! A good walk uphill to snap the required photo of the trig. TFTT

Came up here to search for another Geocache and stumbled upon this Trig Point.

Never seen one before.

22-Nov-14
I walked in from Bradys Gully Road - a really pretty 30 minute stroll. Found the trig easily enough - a concrete plinth with the mast and plaque both missing. The mast is actually lying in the bush about 10m east of the trig.

Found at 8:01 am.

20-Sep-14
On the way here we saw an echidna by the side of the track! I've only ever seen them in the wild a few times before, and never before on the Central Coast. Lovely area and lots of strange smashed up trees around here. It seems that the top part of this trig marker has been removed in the last few years, in it's place is a rubber triangle with space for a three-legged instrument. Cheers all!
