Description
A trigpoint on Devonport's Mersey Bluff close to the Mersey Bluff Earthcache (GC10HFF) and the Bluff Shell Cache (GC1DGJK) not sure if its a real trig but it looks like one very easy find.
Additional Info (supplied by 2y'stassies): This beacon on a single pole is recorded in the DPIW ListMap database. It's code of DMB121 suggest that it was installed by the then Devonport Marine Board to assist with port operations, possibly the dumping of material at sea from dredging of the Mersey River.

Hello northern Tasmania, it’s lovely to finally meet you And you’ve presented me with three Trigs in the one location. So kind and thoughtful of you. And what a fine Trig this one is! Queensland, when I return we need to talk haha. This is my first stop on a Tasmanian adventure. Great location, thanks for the cache

A quick stop on the drive home after a weekend on the Northwest coast with RLD4963.
That's a rockstar trig for sure - solid, standing tall, ain't nobody gonna mess with it, telling everyone "I'm a trig point and proud!".

The Wench and I are wandering around northern Tassie for a few days and found yet another TP, this time very close to the Mersey Bluff Lighthouse TP.
I did try and do this tri a while ago but in the dark I could make out the trig in my pictures when i got home so back today in daylight.
Its a great view if a bit windy from up here.

Saw this all-white post and vanes while walking around from the Bluff Shell GC. Probably not easy to see from a distance, without contrasting vanes and I wonder why it's there, as the more visible lighthouse is so close. We recorded S41 09.538 E146 21.376 at the post but noticed the brass DMB121 plate a few metres away later. Our Southern-most GCA.

#GA287 - 17:30; I was out on the north west coast on a Great Aussie Icon Hunt (#5.6) and after a bite of lunch in Penguin, collected a few caches in that area before the geohoney and I headed for home. Dropped by Mersey Bluff to take in the sights and perhaps grab another cache or two. Turned out to be caching Nirvana with three trigs and a number of other caches all accessible at the one stop TFTC Geocaching Australia

Zal and I spent 10 days touring Tasmania and it was the most amazing trip ever! We got engaged at Cradle Mountain and saw so many wonderful things. Even the weather played nice most of the time Thanks for the hunt, it is always tricky logging lots of holiday finds so apologies for the cut'n'paste log, Zal included more details

Zhaoy and I passed briefly through Devonport today and only had time for one stop so we made this it! Earthcache, 3 trigs and Trad made it worth it... That and the views! Looks like a real trig to me

Had to get FFP to take the photo from the car as it's drizzling and for some reason my GPSr camera is being silly.

Found many many times over our fabulous time in Devonport. Found while on scout expeditions, surf club expeditions, training runs and geosport expeditions. Found in the early morning light, mid day, after work and many times at night. I should have a swag of photos....
Have found this ages ago and had not updated it as was not sure what we needed to verify photo etc. kids stood in front to be in happy snap
lived here for years but never bothered to check it out in closer detail

Found after an interesting and eventful walk up here. Geohubby dropped gps and ir seems they don't like to be dropped. After going and buying a new one we continued on our way. thought we had a photo to upload but it doesn't seem to want to
A nice easy find was perfect for today...we needed to get out for a walk.

Spotted this while doing the Geosport at Devonport, got the photo required and realised I hadn't logged this trig point yet. Duh.
Bit late in logging this one. Was in the area today (5/10/11) and after checking the logs I noticed mine wasn't there. Had to find the photo then.
Think Ive taken this picture on more than one occasion now Least Ive finally logged it
Easy find just before lunch on our caching field day. After taking the attached photo we wandered off to do the nearby Earth cache. TFTC
Found at the end of another lovely caching afternoon. Sea as calm as a millpond and the beginnings of a glorious volcanic sunset starting to colour the horizon.
Nice day as per usual muggles everywhere. iPhone flat so no picture today.

Since we were in the area for the Earth cache, I thought I would also log the trig. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the trig markers were easily found. Like others I found 2 markers. See pictures attached.

Well there are two trig type points here - first is the river marker and second is a removed trig point. Photo taken

Drive-by trigpointing, yay! By the time we got up here it was way too dark to find the thing on the ground; I hope a silhouette of the pole structure will suffice. As we were taking pictures of the trig, we turned around to see a huge, full, orange moon ascending beautifully over the ocean. Not a good enough camera to capture it very well, though it was a wondrous sight. The view of Devonport at night from the bluff top is always worth seeing, too.

A quick easy find, the tricky part was taking a pic. Understandably there were many muggles about today

Well hope this is the right marker for the cache. It was hard to get close to it today as the carpark was full to bursting. Muggles everywhere but we didnt think they were there for the same reason as us, hahahah.

A wonderful view on a glorious summers day. We think the survey point was erected by the Marine Board of Devonport for their port operations, possibly to assist with determining the location for dumping silt dredged from teh river. The second photo shows a Marine Board of Devonport survey marker within about 5m of the steel marker.
