Description
Warrimoo TS7252
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Warrimoo.
Serial number is: TS7252.
Last Inspected on: October, 1985.
Elevation is: 312 metres.
This Trig replaces an earlier Trig (TS4663) mounted on the side of the reservoir.
This trig is on top of the Warrimoo Reservoir, but unfortunately only the base of the trig is left. Suggested viewing spot is on Albert Street.
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

Beautiful day to be caching in the mountains; visiting from Perth WA.

Many thanks to Toriaz for putting it up on the radar screen. It's my 84th trigpoint!
My coordinates are for the centre of the Victoria Street reservoir.
Toriaz has helpfully provided the coordinates of the nearby viewing spot on nearby Albert Street.
Will wait from feedback from more experienced trig people about this one.
I'll ask rogerw3 about finding more of these Sydney area reservoirs with 'stumps' instead of full trigpoints. There's another pair of reservoirs at Hornsby Heights, showing no sign of a trig, either in person or on the satellite maps, but there's definitely a record of one in the area.
Yesterday I found the Mt Riverview trig & realised that the Warrioo one might also be missing its top part, with only a base remaining. And it also occurred to me that going to another street, rather than the Victoria Street this reservoir is on, might give me a better view. Sure enough, from Albert Street I found that I could see the base of a trig station. The coordinates I've added to this post are my viewing point.
It's not a very interesting trig, but it's there (well, part of it are there), so I'm including here to record its existence.
