Serial number is: TS10195.

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.

Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access.

These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

The original collection of trig points has been sourced from Geoscience Australia and may contain inaccuracies.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.

If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

On the way home on a shorter shift completed at work. So, it was time to do a trig. Parked in mentioned road & did the short walk up the hill. At GPS reading took the 1st shot & continued up the hill more to take a photo that was not obstructed of trees & a good clear shot of trig. A nice quick short distance trig completed in suburbia. Its nice to see a area with no rubbish & broken glass. Clan Griffin

Came to tackle another in the GC Water Towers series and noticed the trig. Of course that meant I'd be able to log a find here as well.

#GA425 - 17:05; I suggested to Sol de lune some time back that we should do a day run to Sydney to pick up some of the GCA trigs and caches on offer. A couple of weeks ago we identified an opportunity timing wise and so it was that we made our way north today, collecting a total of 32 trigs for the day. Another climb up a hill, but not too far as the day was drawing to a close. Grabbed the snaps and a GC cache nearby for good measure. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

A day trip planned with LuckyL10n to start grabbing a few trigs in different areas of Sydney. Hit Campbelltown, Liverpool, Fairfield and Bankstown today...and grabbed a total of 32. Back in a couple of months for another go.

No problems here and the photos were soon grabbed.

Realised I was meters away after finding the nearby Water Towers cache. Took the pic. Small problem, it was 7.30pm, Dark and fog was everywhere. Pic may not be too clear. Laughing

A pleasant find after doing the nearby GC cache views 1#

Found together with rogerw3, our 9th of the day.

No trouble in viewing and photographing this one, because we could walk up the hill and get up as high as the top of the reservoir.

It was starting to get dark but we still had enough daylight left for our pictures.

What a day!

I followed a lot of Yurt's advice today. Here I too parked in Earl Place, climbed the hill and took the photo.

Spotted this one on Google Earth so I published it and came by this week to find it first. Earl Place is the way in - there's a chain across the gate but it's public land and you walk straight up the hill for the photo. A lot of trees but a shot is possible of the orange vanes. Went on to a nearby GC cache further up the hill.
