The egg wanted a coffee so we detoured into town. A quick snap with Miss E.

Sophoutloud and I needed an excuse to get out of the house so we decided to drive 'Bells Line' to Lithgow and grab a few trigs on the way through. We managed to grab 13 across the day to bump up our trig count significantly. we had a great day out and most of the trigs we found were in great conditions, some even looked like they had a new coat of paint. A great old Church and an easy trig to grab

Collecting all the trigs in the area today. Well all that we have time for today. Once we had parked up to find the cors unit across the road we decided to just walk across the road to get a photo of the church spire. What beautiful church yards, looking so good at this time of the year.

Cruising through Lithgow towards Orange, we were too pressed for time for cache searching, but did get a pair of trigs....

I had been out for the morning and stopped at Lithgow before heading home again. Parked in the side street and was able to get a quick photo. TFTT
#GA2374 - 18:20; Day two of the summer sojourn in the Blue Mountains with the geohoney and today a trip to Jenolan Caves was the order of business. Made our way down to the caves from Leura after breakfast in Katoomba on the way through. I was surprised at the speed limits as we made our way along the Great Western Highway, but they were certainly appropriate given the nature of the roads. Ended up behind a tourist on the Jenolan Caves Road, which was quite interesting when they overtook two cars stopped at a traffic control stop before they saw the traffic controller Anyway, we managed to pass safely before the steep descent started After an interesting tour of the Orient Cave, we headed towards Oberon, stopped by the dam to grab the three trigs there, along with another engineering marker before picking up the local CORS and another trig before setting sail for Lithgow. This was the second stop once we reached town and another one which hasn't had a visit for nearly two years. TFTT Geocaching Australia

On my way to Bathurst for the Geocaching NSW Invasion Event I had a few places I wanted to take photos, and this was one. So I stopped a little way back to get a view of the spire.

We are on our way from Caringbah (Sutherland area) to Bathurst to meet friends for dinner tonight. The first cache wasn't attempted until Lithgow so we actually arrived on time. Thanks to GeocachingNSW for the Invasion event!
On the way back from the Blast Furnace we tried to get a good shot of this one. After trying to figure out what the best location was to shoot it we decided to leave it with this one.

A morning in Lithgow with a few GCA caches and trigs to find! Nice church!

Have driven past this one many times. Last time I couldn't park but this time I used the United driveway when it was quiet and snapped it out the window.

Beautiful structure, easy seen entering Lithgow from the east, and surprising it has been over a year since last logged.

My first trig for the day, on a quick caching trip around Lithgow. Lovely old church .
This is certainly a very different style of trig point - we haven't seen one like this before. It wasn't easy to get a photo of the trig point but at least the deciduous trees had dropped their leaves and gave as a line of sight. A composite photo hadsbeen added to the Gallery: one photos is of one of us with the trig point (aka church spire) behind; the second is a closer view of the top of the spire. TFTC
GCA 388 - 4738. Sol de Lune and I attempted the Blue Mountains Power Trail this weekend - along with other GC, GCA and trigs caches - a great couple of days !!
A nice looking old church - plus a Trig - bonus !

This trip was planned from when the trail was published, but it took till now to get a common free weekend. Most of the caches were simple and well placed. A few were more difficult. The places visited were interesting and all in all Mtrax, Tankengine and I had a great time, even if a bit wet and foggy at times.

If rogerw3 hadn't discovered that this was a trig, you would never know.

Another spot that makes you wonder why it has been designated as a trig? What's it used for now? Has it ever actually been used as a trig point for any surveying?
Found together with rogerw3, GazMag, blossom* and Strike-a-light on a trig hunting and caching expedition to Lithgow!
Designated TS1480 by the NSW Department of Lands, the top of the steeple is a genuine trig.
'Three Thumbs Up' for the fun of photographing the church in a group!

Quick stop and photo whilst waiting for Glenferns to make his way down to Lithgow

I have talked to a few groups at this church so I knew where to park for a quick photo as the school kids wandered past.
I have been meaning to look for this obvious Trig Point for some time now, so this evening (hence the dark photos) I went and got the required pics. The Church itself is well worth the visit it is very nice and on very attractive grounds.
