A trains and trigs and return from Tarana run with rogerw3 ...
With a diversion via Portland, thence the drive along the track, in good condition though a long time since it has seen a grader, we left the Georeindeer near the team stilllookin' cache and trekked our way.
An easy walk along the track till about 50-60 metres to go, it was then for what initially seemed a straightforward bushbash. As we made our way towards the ridge line the tree growth intermingled and the ground litter thickened, and though it was not burdensome it made for slow progress. Invincible trig was sighted n reaching an outlook from a pagoda but it was deemed possible to get closer, indeed to stand with. A circuitous way was made through thickish undergrowth around a a few pagoda formations to a point where the trig was but metres above - just a few too many metres for a safe climb unprepared. Not quite near as one would have liked, especially after the 'forced' way in, but there was compensation with the view - ignoring the black blot on the landscape below. Well worth the effort.

A great day for a walk with whitemushroom, we made our way to the base of the climb up to the rock, quite steep and the amount of debris is rather amazing and makes for an arduous bush bash.
Once at the base of the rock you can actually see the trig about 12 meters from you. The rock can be climbed but we did not have any safety gear so did not venture to the top.
Gorgeous views from there if you disregard the Invincible Colliery down below!
