Bit of Sunday 4WDriving fun...and a trig into the bargain. Wasn't planning to get any caches, so didn't know about the one nearby. Oh well. Trigs are the priority these days anyway.

Found this trig today, thanks to Geocaching Australia.

Great to be back out and doing anything that isn't a locationless Jigsaw puzzle. The destruction from the fires is amazing.

The tracks around here are very wet at the moment. Came here after a visit to Lost City.

I call this 3 for the $ of 1 visit (this GCA Trig / a cache & waymark) did the drive around from newnes end through Lithgow to get here – the tracks are a lot better this end – had to go through some big water holes but A OK – like others drove up to GZ – what a view from up here – I loved it - Thanks

1735, While down in the Blue Mountains for the Dargans Canyon Event we stopped off and took a photo (or two) of the trig. Shame the name plate is missing - it took me ages to work out were I had taken the photo when I found an old SD card.
Very belatedly logging this - 19/11/2015. (As I not only lost the caching log book not long after that Saturday, but later that next week I had 'an episode' at work - 31/1, where I lost 3 months of the previous memories!) Incidentally, I ended up buying a new/demo model Nissan Dualis on the Wednesday, 29th January, but when I woke up on Saturday morning 1st Feb I had absolutely NO recollection of that at all!
Thanks to 'the Spindoctors' for the Waymark.

While heading to Sydney and the Blue Mountains (for Cookie to Attend a canyoning Event) we stopped off here to check on the Trig. Nice!
A nice original Trig while out here for my 2000th cache. Nice a easy.

Found as part of a Newnes plateau expedition for Alfyboy's 2000th GC find.
The pedestal and vanes are in great condition. We even found the old vanes and post down in the gulley.

This prominent trig was one of the main aims of our Saturday cache-and-trig expedition in the general area around Lithgow.
rogerw3 and I found the correct fire trail this time and suddenly the trig loomed up in front of us, just as we were about to park the GeoBuru2 and go off searching on foot!
Full marks to rogerw3 for tracking down another one, very accurately, from the old maps.
The trig and its pedestal proved to be in good overall condition, free from graffiti but the side name plaque was missing, which was a bit of a disappointment.
Views from this high altitude spot would be great, but today the rain and fog was on the way as we took our photos.
Still, a great find at a great spot!
'Three Thumbs Up' for the thrill of the find.

Got to this Trig today with pjmpjm, a very nice Trig in great condition. The name plaque has been souvenired but otherwise it is intact.
What a great view from there, well not today, as it is drizzling and light fog all over the place.
We were just about to check the GPSr when pjmpjm looked up and there it was!
A great drive, very pleasant and quite a busy road.
