Description
A Trig Point or Trig Station is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.
This trig is listed as a Trig Station on the ACT Planning and Land Authority Survey Control Marks Database http://www.actpla.act.gov.au/tools_resources/maps_land_survey/surveying_data/surveyors_information/survey_control_marks
The 'Neighbour Trigonometrical Station' is repeatedly referred to as a reference point for defining boundaries of ACT districts in the 'Districts Ordinance 1967'. http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/a/1967-10/19670524-44787/pdf/1967-10.pdf
A lone bolt in the concrete is the only obvious remains of the trig point. There are some surrounding stones which may or may not have been part of a rock cairn.

Took a picture of geodog next to the bolt
I agree with TE and MBO. The remains of a former trig is not a trig. Especially since it is just a mounting bolt from the structure traditionally mounted over the ACTUAL survey marker, which I looked for but couldn't locate.
Anyway, I'll log it to get it out of the way, since if I archived it someone would simply unarchive it again.
or once was a trig.
had too much time to spare before work, so decided to walk up a hill i've never been to before. nice views
TFTC and the Charlene.
Catching up on another Trig visited when finding a nearby GC Cache - in this case "Just for the Views #8" on 19 March 2010 - and yes great views for sure !!
TFTC !!
This one definitley has some historical links. The 'Neighbour Trigonometrical Station' is repeatedly referred to as a reference point for defining boundaries of ACT districts in the 'Districts Ordinance 1967'. http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/a/1967-10/19670524-44787/pdf/1967-10.pdf
At GR 848834 on the Tuggeranong 8727-3S topographic map, Neighbour Hill can be seen as can a district boundary referred to in the District Ordinance, running SW from the top of the hill.
The position of the bolt is listed as a Trig Station on the ACT Planning and Land Authority Survey Control Marks Database http://www.actpla.act.gov.au/tools_resources/maps_land_survey/surveying_data/surveyors_information/survey_control_marks
