Having travelled north to hunt down some GC Challenge caches, I am making my way back south using trig stations as my guide. Thanks for publishing them Geocaching Australia. This one couldn't be any easier.
Out trigging with Sophoutloud today on a mission to take over Penrith. It was a beautiful warm day and we were surprised how many of these trigs had survived the urban expansion of Penrith. They were all found in varying conditions from as perfect as the day they were built to pretty broken and covered in graffiti. Nice and easy roadside grab out the passenger window.

Quick photo and back into the air conditioned car. Zonis made a scene though.

I have driven past here and never noticed it before. Plenty of greenery for it to blend in. Found with viaggio0001 on our way home from Richmond.
Out caching with.... GeoDirk! After waking up too early today he was doomed to go caching with me today. After 14 puzzles, 4 trigpoints, 4 traditionals and one multi, we had a slushee. It was a win!
This was a drive-by trig as it was just next to the road!

Easy to photograph, being a drive-by; beside the road, not on the top of the hill. Strange place for a trig . But a trig neither-the-less .

Passing by whilst doing a job in Penrith, detoured and made an easy find.

Stopped by at 0810, and tried to find out what the name of it is, but there is quite a secure 4-strand barbed wire fence, that I would have needed some assistance with to get through. (Apart from the grass being almost chest high). Took some coordinates to check it out, as my usual database of trigs was on my laptop being serviced/repaired.
Assuming this concrete pedestal trig, with intact post and vanes also has a name plate on the western side.

A quick park and shoot whilst passing through. This one just off the side of the road

This was the strangest position for a trig I've seen for a while. Not on top of a hill or a tower but beside the road with a hill on the other side of the road? But I'm guessing it could be spotted across the water in the days when the trees weren't there. Well and truly overgrown now. I was bashing my way through the scrub and was taking one more step when I realised there was a fence in there. Got the shots but would have liked to see the plaque.

Thought this one had passed me by, then suddenly there it was, soaking in the rain.
Geoson had been wanting to log this one for a long time, we took a drive here today to do so

Trig 2 for the afternoon on the way home from working in Richmond this morning.
I was expecting it to be on the HIGH side of the road.

Trig number 5 of 7 for today's 23km walk from Penrith via Cranebrook and Castlereagh then back to Penrith station.
A lovely trig this one, right on the edge of the road and in great condition. A shame the name plaque is on the other side, I did think of getting over the fence, but the brand new barb wire made me think twice, it would not be a good look to have to walk back to Penrith with my jeans ripped in some embarrassing place, and nobody wants to see that!
Now onto the next one.

Been along this road a few times in the past and remember seeing this trig, but never knew you could report it as a new re-discovered trig. Good to get right up to it. Couldn't help it and climbed the barb wire fence to see the plate. everything was intact.
Another post-midnight visit to a long-lost trig on my way from the Blue Mountains to Sydney's northwest.
This TS is located only about 5-7 metres off the road and easy to see as you approach, even at night.
I lined up my headlights on high beam for the photos. They aren't the best pictures I've ever taken . . .
There's a brand new barbed wire fence separating the trig's concrete pedestal from the road, but it's so close to the fence that you could reach through and touch it.
No side plaque or removal scar was visible on the three sides of the pedestal that I could view, and I suspect it's situated on the fourth side, just out of sight. No vandalism was evident and the vanes were in good shape. No doubt the fence deters evil-doers.
Many thanks to rogerw3 for re-discovering this one.
