took a detour on the way back home from town to get this one, you can really see this from a long way off.

A rainy day today. By the time I got near this trig it was pouring with rain. the car GPS wanted me to go up someone's driveway to get closer! I was even nervous parking by the side of the road as I didn't want to get bogged! I drove around but this was the closest I could get today. TFTT

#GA2282 - 13:10; When the States of the Nation game began, a plan was hatched for a group of ACT cachers to take a trip north to the Hawkesbury on a scavenger raid. As time passed the group's numbers dwindled, but with a bit of work solving puzzles and a few things rescheduled, our merry band comprising andrewbt, Sol de lune and I set off on a damp Canberra morning to try our hand. A recent visit to Canberra by cachers from this area provided an added incentive, so we could repay the karma points we gained from their visit. A successful day it turned out to be with 56 finds and only three DNFs. This was one a a few trigs we spotted on our way around the area. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

In the area with LuckyL10n and AndrewBT for a weekend of caching and this was our next stop. Tried to grab a photo from near the trig but wasn't to work, so it was back down the road to grab a shot from there.

Thanks for another trig.....

This trig has been on the 'mushroom list for ages but seemingly passed by via other roads ... set out today determined to capture ... and surprisingly easy it was too! A very distinctive reservoir with the mast and vane of Glossodia trig clear to be seen.

On my way from a CITO Event at Swallows Rock Reach to another Event at Bathurst I saw this trig on a water tower and remembered that I hadn't logged it yet on GCA (tho I had found it in 1985, on a trig tour then).
Stopped and took a photo that showed the trig okay, tho a bit of a telephoto shot.

Out with Team Merlin finding a few local GA trigs. Photo captured and onto the next.

24-Feb-16
Out with JJCC doing a cache run around the area picking up two GC traditional caches, six GA trigs plus another two GA DNFs. Pulling into the driveway of the tower we couldn't get a clear view of the trig due to all of the trees surrounding. Moving back down the end we found a location with a clear view of the trig and took a photo before continuing on our journey.

This was only 4.53Km from home as the crow flies so when my mowing duties at home was completed it was a short trip to get the required photo of this trig. Decided one needed to be taken as it is over 18 months since last photo was taken.
It is only in the past few weeks that I have become more interested in GA caches - might have something to do with not many GC caches left in my local area unfound.
I am using a smart phone for the photos utilising both the front and back camera at the same time.

First find of the day for my trip west - one of the last trigs out this way I haven't logged. Easy enough to see from a distance but not close. Got a shot through the trees and then down the hill. Walked into the gate of the vegie farm and got the shot. Bloke rode up on a quad bike and asked me if I needed anything. Told him I was getting a shot of the water tower.

I had to get Daughter in laws car over to Windsor for a service, so after dropping it off they offer a service to drop you off at home or work. Took advantage of this and as I had the day off i said take the other passenger to work first, the bloke works at home on a small property in Glossodia the property is almost next to the Trig on the water supply for the area. Asked himto take a pickie of me with it in the background.
also got a picture from the distance.

I'd read the previous logs before setting out today, so when I spotted the trig in the distance, I pulled over near a field of horses (& next to the welcome to Glossodia sign) to take a photo.

Then drove closer & confirmed that the photo is easier to get from a distance Very Happy .

This 1 had me going for a while Surprised, was just able to see the top of trig across the road standing at the edge of private residence driveway. Took some photos & drove to the next cache, as I looked in my rear view mirror I could see the trig in its full dress Very Happy. So pull over to take more photos, Thanks.

Found together with pjmpjm and GazMag on a day-long Geocaching and trig hunting expedition in the Kurrajong/North Richmond/Windsor areas.
No need to get too close as the closer you get the harder it is to see the Trig, still easy to see from a distance.

This is easer from further away. So. I took a long shot!

It was easy enough to see the tall Glossodia Reservoir tower, but not so easy to see the trig itself. Or rather, the top half of the trig and vanes were visible from far out in the driveway, but the trees were blowing back and forth in front of it, making it difficult to photograph -- at least with an iPhone camera.

I suspect rogerw3 will get a much better shot with his big zoom lens.

Anyhow, I could see the black trig vanes quite well -- the top part, at least -- but my photographs are rather poor. I took about 25 shots and found only a few were usable.

No need to try to get closer to the base of the reservoir complex. It's off limits and out of bounds -- and you can't see the trig from that close in any case!
