Another trig bites the dust.

Probably one of the most spectaculiar to visit.

Out and about enjoying the sun.

Fun times!

Got this on day 2 of the Bondi to Manly walk. No GPS in pic as I wasn't intending on doing any geocaching.

15-Mar-20
Another nice easy one on a stroll around the Botanic Gardens and Mrs Macquarie's Point. Even if just after I had to shelter under a sandstone overhang to wait for a shower to pass. Thanks Geocaching Australia, good to get out and some walking and finds done.

Bit of a rainy day but the walk provided one of the best views of the harbour. Got a bit of history in the bargain as well. Thanks for the cache!

15-Feb-18
Nice day for a walk to the Opera House after a day of meetings. Warm day, but still nice. What better than grabbing a few TPs and Caches on the way.

The top of the Plinth is damaged but still in place as you can see from the Photo. DancingClappingMr. GreenSmileVery Happy

A damp and drizzly day in Sydney meant that the view wasn't the best but we still knew where we were.

03-Nov-16
Found during today's lunch walk.

17-Sep-16
Night walk just made it through the gardens before the gates closed to join the massive group of photographers at the point. Can't beat these views for what must be one of Sydney's iconic trig points!

12-Aug-16
Only one day left in Sydney before we fly home to Brisbane on Saturday. We had a wish list of caches to find whilst in Sydney for two days and this was one of them as it was on our way to the Earth Cache not that far from here. Good view across the Harbour and a very good view of the Sydney Opera House and that is the reason why this one is here. TFTT GCA Clan MinotaurVery Happy

While I was raised in Sydney (albeit the North Shore), and had been to the Botanical Gardens a few times, I don't remember this trig, so it was good to drop by and get a photo (or two) of this one. Found @ 1842

I do prefer trigs on top of mountains...but this is a pretty good view.

05-Jul-15
We were on the trail of some GC traditionals when I realised this trig was near. I took a quick detour to spot it, and found it sitting directly by the path.

Spotted this while doing the nearby earthcache ... an iconic Sydney view!

On a side stop in Sydney on the way South from dive Trip, I decided to stop by here for a cache and saw there was a trig here I had not noticed before. Great to see another one. Thanks

Great views of the harbour from here with lots of tourists about, worth the walk from Circular Quay.

Thanks to my very good friend (He knows who he is!) I have been introduced to Geocaching and although I am not quite getting the caching bit I am however quite taken by the trigonometric Points.
Having heard my friend go on and on about their use and value as well as their history I have decided to log a few with my friend to hold my hand for now!

Nice spot. TFTC.

I stumbled over this one while walking around the point. Interesting that the plaque is dated 1975 but the 1978 survey says it was erected in 1977. In either case, concrete pillars were the common style then so nice that someone chose sandstone to better fit the locale.

#GA161 - 12:50; I was in Sydney with the geohoney, geoteen and friend, so while they were indulging in some retail therapy, I'd made my way over to gather the information I required to log the nearby earthcache. On the way back to the CBD, I stopped by to make the find on this cache, one of several still standing around the foreshore. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very Happy

Found on a short weekend trip to Sydney, to watch "The Music of Queen" at the Opera House. Another quick trig with a great view. A short climb up from the main path up to GZ - but went no further than the fence. Nice place with some good examples of geology. TFTC GCA!

14-Jun-13
while the trig was easy to find beside the steps, getting a reasonable photo was a challenge.
I took a few, but as it was about 5am, and all I had was the phone's camera, it is mostly just blackness.
great views at this time though.

This was my first cache for the marathon on the Geosportz! I was lucky enough to be able to take off from work a few hours early today so I decided to do the furthest of the "near work" caches I'd lined up for the Marathon event. I got off the bus in the normal spot to walk down to the point but was very surprised to see that it was almost 2km away, making a round trip of almost 4km!! Never mind, it must be good exercise.

On to the trig: on a glorious winter afternoon, with a VERY brisk breeze blowing, the view of the opera house and harbour bridgeas just beautiful. Of course, my photo isn't too hot but you get the idea. No wonder this spot is so popular with tourists, the view really is amazing.

27-May-12
It was a bit tricky to get a decent photo at this time of day with the sun directly in front, but that wasn't stopping the tourists, so why should it stop me!!

20-Apr-12
Just had to fit in with the bus loads of tourists and get the camera out for this one.

Another vigilant trig watching the Sydney Opera House, making sure it doesn't move even a millimetre!

Beautiful day and beautiful views -- and an unexpected nearby survey marker . . . a great trig visit.

Lots of people around today but still a peaceful scene, with everyone clearly enjoying the weather and lovely Sydney Harbour . . .

Also enjoyed seeing the famous Mrs. Macquarie's Chair once again.

A 'Three Thumbs Up' experience . . .

27-Jul-11
Found while in Sydney for a few days for a work trip. What a beautiful view from a trig point.

Finally got around to doing this nice trig, it took a while but there it is now done. Great spot, always worth a visit to the Gardens.

This was my last night in Sydney so I decided to wander up from my hotel in Surry Hills to have a look at Sydney lit up at night. I wanted to mark this trig point off my list as well. I found it without any trouble so lined up the camera for a photo or two, and nothing… the batteries were dead. Shit. What to do? Then I remembered my phone has a little camera built into it, so I whipped it out and took a couple of grainy snaps. This would be a great spot to have a decent camera to get that postcard shot of the Bridge and Opera House.

Woot *FTF*

Wow, I was here yesterday and actually took a photo from the viewing platform, I didn't even notice the trig!!!

Never mind, we came back today and rectified that oversight. I found the info regarding one of the purposes for the establishment of the marker to be quite intriguing.

This one is worth it for the views if nothing else!

29-May-11
Arguably the finest Trig point in OZ. Thanks!
