08-Jan-19
Found this trig/virtual while on a caching run through the Eastern Suburbs trying to progress my journey and get a few steps closer to the destination. Total haul for the day 15 caches including 9 trigs, some GCA virtuals and a few GC caches.

Wow, what a location and structure! This is what caching is all about, bringing you to places like this that you might not have otherwise known about or thought to visit!
When I arrived, the lighthouse was shrouded in a rolling sea mist that was coming up and over the cliff face. As the lighthouse was playing peak-a-boo I managed to snap the required shots before heading over to find the other trigs in the area. I think you can just see the top of the weather vane in the pic.

Thanks for the cache Geocaching Australia Very Happy

Hoping this find will move me one step closer to the destination, be that either the blue tile or my goal of 100 trigs!

Spent the morning at Watson's Bay visiting the local trig points and Lighthouses. TFTT.

Got my timing right to be here for one of the few open days they have at the lighthouse each year. It's not often you pics of a trig/lighthouse in Australia from the inside! I highly recommend coming up here for the spectacular views - totally unmatched. You can understand why they placed it here when you see how far into the harbour you can see.

18-Jan-18

I've been to this spot several times before, and taken photos of the lighthouse several times before. And now I find that the lighthouse has turned into a trig and a virtual Confused . This photo is from today, I'm sure some of my previous photos are better quality.

Edit: just realised I have logged this one twice. So I deleted my log of 20/1/13, and kept the one where Canary & I each talk about having lunch with the lighthouse behind us.

#GA571 - 13:45; After a nice breakfast in Bondi, it was time to head north along the coastal cliffs to grab a few trigs while the geohoney and I were in the area. After grabbing four along the cliffs at North Bondi, we headed towards Watson's Bay to see if we could bag a few more. This was the last of three on a short walk between the lighthouses. This was hard to miss at night. The lighthouse was in full swing protecting our shores against attacks...I mean ships that might crash into land. Took a pic in the dark. Nice!

After Watsons Bay trig we walked on to snap this one. An amazing day, look at the fog in the photos. Doesn't look like a warm day in November. Nice old lighthouse with a plaque out the front which says the original lighthouse was built in 1818.

found today, number 3 in the area. Very interesting Passive Trig Station. Lots of history about the Macquarie Lighthouse. It does make an excellent trig Point as it is visible from a very long distance across the harbour.
