Logs
Travelling around Greater Sydney collecting LGAs and this is for another. I don't know how many times that I must have walked over this before I recognised it. TFTT Geocaching Australia.
After jogging nearby I noticed this nearby. It took a little bit of time to find, even though it is not actually obscured - TFTT!
Finding a variety of trig styles today, this one in a CI PM box. The lid is very stiff as many of us are after 50 years. Although I couldn't open the box very far, the cavity below is quite deep, with no visible concrete or pin. With a good application of penetrating oil, it should be possible to open it fully and do some better archeology. I managed a few internal photos (how good are thin camera phones) and captured the "NORTH" engraving on the lid.

Next trig on the list as I headed towards the daughters house at Bondi (the long way round) and dinner out somewhere.
I came here whilst doing a morning walk- 18kms from Belrose to St Ives and back. I got confused by the nearby sewer vent cover at first but found the PM hatch eventually. The lid was shut tight and I didn't have the tools to open it. Found at 10:21 am.
Had a better torch, but only found a possum walking a 'power' line.
No luck with the SSM cover. I am wondering if it is still there.

Found a SV cover, but not a SM cover, but it was ~ 1830 at night. If back in the area in daytime will have another look.
You would need a tool to pry it open but I found the cover on a trig tour this morning. Seem to be a few PM only trigs around these parts!

Yep, pretty unobtrusive. I peered into the hole and waited for my eyes to adjust but could only see darkness.
Well this is a very unobtrusive trig! We found the PM and managed to prise the lid up but without a torch, couldn't spot the pin. I can only assume it's down there in the dark somewhere
We'd looked for this one a long while back before it was published. Hard to find without coords but today it was easy to find. However it was very difficult to open as there'd been some erosion onto the hinge. I managed to lever it open slightly but couldn't get a pic until I cleaned the hinge. Even then I couldn't get it past halfway. I wonder what the neighbours were thinking. Still we managed a photo and closed it again.
Good to see a real PM trig, not many of them I've seen. Lucy, Peate, Pearce that I recall.

Was up this way today for a birthday brunch, then went out to grab a few local caches. This was one of them, found the PM marker in the ground. Not much to see of a trig here really!
Drove up and checked the logs. I first went to another thing in the ground, before turning off my road naviagtion at trying again. GPSr then took me straight to the real PM. Took the photo. Not on private property, but close.

Great find, even if I do say so myself!
I was still telling rogerw3 that I couldn't see a PM-style hatch anywhere, with one of my feet covering it up . . .
Anyhow, this one was a lot of fun and a surprising find, more or less right next to the street.
It took my handy-dandy PM tool to get it open, requiring rogerw3's simultaneous help . . . but soon we saw the 'North' name engraved on the plate, where there's usually a number.
'Three Thumbs Up' for a FTF and an unexpected find!

Found this one with pjmpjm on our afternoon trigging. The PM Cover Box eluded us for a short while until pjmpjm stood on it unaware of where he was! After some struggle we succeeded in opening the box and there was the name plate for this trig, the well proved to be to deep to reach bottom even with with our arm down to the shoulder. Great find this one.

I spotted this one called 'North' on old parish maps some time ago and had a look for it. Couldn't find any sign of a PM or SSM anywhere. Looked all through the park (there's a GC cache near here too) but maybe didn't look right at the suggested GZ as that's quite close to the property line. Worth another look I guess.
