On a road trip to Sydney, geocaching had almost fallen off my radar, but spied a trig and knew I had to make a log!

I did not expect t be in Sydney this week, but here I am and with some spare time to find caches.
The afternoon was spent visiting Waymarks. There are 2 Waymarks associated with this trig location

A nice easy find while strolling around the Botanic Gardens in search of some numbers after too many weeks of not caching and before we all go into lockdown. Pleasant day for a walk even if I had to take shelter later on under a rock overhang from a shower. Cheers Geocaching Australia.
This was next on my stroll around this side of the Quay before heading back to board the cruise ship. What great views from GZ on such a glorious day. A nice quick one at 12:30 and I was on the way back.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.

A nice walk with the Family and JakeAthol plus Betty in the botanical gardens. Ended up going over to the opera house and did all kinds of caches on the way.
Walking around Sydney this morning and found this!
People sitting right next to it, so didn't want to bother them, so it's taken a little far away

I had a few hours to spare this morning before catching a train to visit 2 of my daughters in The Gong. Got up early to get more caching in.
Nice quick find as I wandered quickly through the park to grab a couple of geocaches before my train. I really must return with more time. Beautiful place here.

Nice day for a walk to the Opera House after a day of meetings. Warm day, but still nice. What better than grabbing a few TPs and Caches on the way.

This was the third time I had been to try for this trig, with the wrong coordinates the first time, and an Event that prevented entry to the Botanic Gardens the next time, so it was good to finally get this trig 'ticked off' the list of Waymark trigs to find within 250 km. It also enabled me to be sure that I had gotten over x 100 Visits.
Found and photographed this concrete pillar (especially the basic 'Orientation Plate' on top) @ 1305, Sunday, 20 August, 2017

After work this afternoon we enjoyed a nice walk around the gardens to this trig. So many people around here playing Pokemon, it's really quite surreal! Nice to find a trig so close to work that we can use for GeosportZ. We then went for dinner at Potts Point and ended up sitting opposite to the Channel 9 60 minutes presenter Allison Langdon and her friends who we also recognised from TV. TFTTP!

Bikerbuddy & I were walking to the final coordinates of a multi, and I was playing pokemon go as we walked. I collected supplies from a nearby pokestop, started to close it & suddenly registered the photo. Hang on, I thought, that's a trig. I called out to bikerbuddy, and started looking around to see where it actually was.
Bikerbuddy spotted the trig, and took a photo of me in front of it. Then we went back to walking to that multi, and more pokemon go playing. I caught a Magmar near here as well .

The area around the Trig was roped off (for Vivid light festival) but as others were sitting on seats within the rope I made a quick dash in to take a picture before the evening crowds came.

Great views of the harbour and city from here with lots of tourists about, worth the walk from Circular Quay along the waters edge. Some wonderful exotic plants in the Botanical Gardens.

Thanks to my very good friend (He knows who he is!) I have been introduced to Geocaching and although I am not quite getting the caching bit I am however quite taken by the trigonometric Points.
Having heard my friend go on and on about their use and value as well as their history I have decided to log a few with my friend to hold my hand for now!

#GA155 - 08:20; Decided to head out for a morning stroll through the Botanical Gardens while the geohoney prepared for the day ahead and eventually the journey home. By this stage I was heading back to the hotel, but taking the chance to grab some more finds on the way. I saw some barriers in the area and feared the worst. however, as I got to GZ, all was clear and I was able to make the find. TFTC Geocaching Australia

Found on a short weekend trip to Sydney, to watch "The Music of Queen" at the Opera House. A short walk from the last virtual, to a nice easy trig, that isn't on top of a hill! Nice views from here. A few part boats around here. TFTC!

This trig has a beautiful view over the harbour and the gardens. But more importantly, it was hidden on 27th July so qualifies for the Geosportz

Visited here on a beautiful winter's day that felt more like summer.
Talked to rogerw3 while on site and we discussed trigs and markers for a while, with the beautiful Sydney Harbour scene spread out before me.
I used to work nearby, in the Royal Botanical Gardens, nearly 40 years ago.
Hope the Sydney Opera House never moves. But if it does, this trig will be the first to know about it!
'Three Thumbs Up' for the beautiful views, lovely day, local history and nostalgia . . .
