On a visit to Mt Wilson.

20-Dec-21
Heading home from Bathurst, we budgeted in time for a Mount Wilson diversion, for the trigs and the EarthCache. We should read the descriptions more carefully, we weren't sure if this orientation pillar was the trig, grabbed a photo anyway of course. There is a copper slug in the rock in between the old and new trigs - is this part of the survey I wonder?

Sophoutloud and I needed an excuse to get out of the house so we decided to drive 'Bells Line' to Lithgow and grab a few trigs on the way through. We managed to grab 13 across the day to bump up our trig count significantly. we had a great day out and most of the trigs we found were in great conditions, some even looked like they had a new coat of paint. This old one now has a direction plate on top of it. this is a great spot think we will have to come back and take photos at sunrise someday.

Out collecting some trigs today and I love spots like this where you can collect two finds for the effort of one! Yay! Got a bit confused when looking for this old one..... spent some time searching around the rocks..... it’s got to be Engraved in the rock somewhere here.. turns out id already had a read and studied the old trig. Hahaha well good thing it’s handy and in good condition

Well, this is one that I didn't identify back in the 1980's as a separate trig, so came along and the extra photo.
What a COOL, misty morning 13°C, after 42°C of yesterday at Newcastle.
Absolutely NO Views, as it was so misty.

A top sunny and windless Autumn day brings the colour out to Mt Wilson. An easy drive down the narrow road to the walkway, and two Trigs only a few steps down at a grand lookout. No GPSr in the pic, but it is shown in the log for Wynnes Rock New (you get one, you get both) Very Happy

Saw the sign to Mt Wilson so went that way. Apparently there are 2 side by side but...........my GPSr said they were 2 metres apart so only one photo. Great views.

Having picked up the new I grabbed the old. Great views from here and no one around today.

A Trig near a trig while out in the Mt Wilson area. great views from here.

06-Jul-13
Great spot overlooking the Bowen Creek Wilderness.

Came here two years ago to log the only trig listed then. Now there are two listed, I now have two found and logged!! Great views!!

Found together with rogerw3 right next to the Wynnes Rock New trig.

Really excellent views! One of the best lookouts around this area.

There's also a SSM marker nearby, but we couldn't find it.

Thanks to rogerw3 for realising that the old trig still exists, though slight disguised!

You can drive quite close but will need to watch the geokids because the lookout is only partly fenced.

'Three Thumbs Up' for the wonderful view and FTF.

A double-trig experience . . .

This was our second find on our trigging day along the Bells Line of Road with pjmpjm.
Not much of a challenge finding this one as it is 4.55 metres away from the current Trig Station that replaced it.
The concrete pillar is now used as an orientation plate.
