Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Bulbararing.

Described as "Stainless Pin in Cover Box", no beacon was ever erected over this Mark. However this one is very unusual in that the nearby monument is used as the beacon for this Trig (but it is not the trig) . The monument is 16.78 metres to the SSE of the Trig or 161 degrees.

I was just playing tourist here when I stepped on something that said TS. I was surprised to see that the plaque on the ground was a Trig marker. I looked it up and found it sure enough. Stepping on it caused me find a history cache here also and a regular one nearby.
Yes, my keys have brown gaffa tape on them. Turns out not all super goes are really super. The one I used to fix my keys recently was an imposter.

Nan is staying in Avoca so after lunch at the beach we brought here up to this lookout. We haven't been here since before the kids were born and it has undergone some changes since then.
The trig point is an easy find, literally can't miss it as you walk to the lookout. It is now marked by a steel plate with the name and number marked on it.

This trig was removed about 10 years ago when the lookout was re developed lovely place for whale watching and taking photos.

Found today while out hunting and hiding GCA caches. Not much of the original trig left due to the revamped lookout.
My dad used to live here, so he enjoyed coming back and showing us his homes.

Geodad said this used to me a monolith. It's the very opposite now!

Out and about caching in the area and found where the trig used to be. A great view from the lookout. TFTT

On a caching run today with phlphotos, alnic39 and Splitty Miller JJCC around the Gosford area. Up at the monument collecting information for a nearby GA mystery cache, we grabbed a photo for this trig as well....definitely not what we were expecting, but a trig nonetheless.

Up this way with teamMerlin, Splitty Miller JJCC & alnic39 stopped here for information & a couple of GC caches plus this trig. What with a previous finder & the gallery made this strange trig able to be captured it must be dangerous to keep it housed in plexiglass. I am guessing that building the viewing platform must have damaged the PM box. Took the photo thanks for the trig

Out doing a few GCA trigs today. Having lived in Copa for a few years (a number of years ago) we have seen the Captain Cook lookout evolve somewhat. The new lookout to the north is great but this southern lookout is still one of my favorite spots on the CC, and it's great that they have renovated the lookout here although it is a strange design and not real kid-friendly. Anyhow.. I reckon I found the old trig location, have posted a few pics of my iGPS at GZ. TFTC.
Looking back over some old photos taken - 30/10/2014, I came across a photo of the Gosford map (I believe) that showed this trig, just north of the Captain Cook Memorial.
Lived here for about 5 years in the 90's and spend much time up here photography storms, sunrises and other things. I was surprised to come today to find the monolith gone and replaced by a glass plate. The lookout though is much better for more people. I suppose on dryer days, there might be a chance to see a pin or something under the glass.

I was doing the GC cache at the lookout when I spotted the monument nearby. Having not look for any trig in the area, I took a photo of the monument in case this may be a trig. I got back to the caravan park and onto the website to find this cache page Bulbararing.I'm not sure if this is good enough to pass as a find but hearing that the monument was used as a beacon for the trig, I think I'll claim this one today
We came looking for this trig as I'd seen it on an old parish map some time ago. I'd been to this lookout many years ago and with a GC cache nearby (only a nano though!) it was worth a visit. We found a survey hatch with no plate under the lid. The brass plug was probably there buried under dirt.
Only logging this now after rogerw3 declared it the likely trig. Interesting that the monument acts as the beacon.
