completed in the morning after going to the fish markets – needed to justify the unjustifiable road tolls that you pay so did a little caching in this part north of Sydney on the way home. Parked near the Crematorium & did the walk here along the great northern track – a very nice & interesting / different trig completed - many thanks

After an early Mother's day morning tea in the National Park we crossed the river to grab these two trigs.
After finding the nearby obelisk style trig we headed along the waterfront for another quick find.
The power of the recent rain can be seen at the weir as the metal fences have been bent over by the force of the water rushing by.

I happened to be staying in the area overnight and after catching up with my daughter at the Comic Con and catching up with cachers at a GCNSW event, I went home but was bored. So I decided to see what GCA caches there were in the area. Seeing there were a couple nearby and having a car handy to drive around, I decided that would fill some time.
What a weir-d trig point! Not what I was expecting to find. I snapped the photo with my GPS anyway.

Spotted the obelisk nearby which prompted me to look and see what else was around, I was pleasantly surprised to see another trig so close.

Have driven up from Goulburn to spend the afternoon having a BBQ and walk along the river with a group of friends at Blackmans Park.
Our mission for the rest of the afternoon was to head to the oldest cache in Australia. Was glad to finally be where it all started.
Of course, I then couldn't resist a short detour to the entrance of the park for a few quick trigs. This was the first of 3. There was a couple standing right at GZ. I just asked them if they wouldn't mind that I just took a quick photo with the trig and would be on my way. The guy even wanted to take the photo for me lol. Off to the next one I go.

Second of the two adjacent trig points while on the way to the site of the first cache nearby during our break between work meetings today. A nice quick one at 10:30 and we were on our way.
Thanks Geocaching Australia.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1065 - 10526 overall cache finds.
Found during a run up to the big Lane Cove Event with Sol de Lune, Toy Hunters and LuckyL10n when we decided to grab a bunch of trigs as well. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especialy the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !
The trig was quickly 'found'. Piccie taken and posted.

#GA491 - 10:05; The day had arrived and it was up at sparrows to join toyhunters, fitzy_1965 and Sol de lune for a trip to Sydney for the 'Let's Party - Come Celebrate Australia's First' Event. After the early start we were approaching the venue in plenty of time, after making our way in to the National Park, we parked to grab a couple of trigs. After bagging the first, it was only a short walk to this one. TFTC Geocaching Australia

Found with Sol de Lune, fitzy_1965 and LuckyL10n on our trip to Lane Cove for the birthday event. A lovely trig in a great area, to stop for a quick rest and stretch. TFTC GCA!

Another quick spot and grab while walking along the water front before heading up to the event....

A quick stop and pic while here for the GC event. Now that is interesting along with its nearby mate.
Found today with team Lost in Cache after attending the 15 Year Party Event up the road. We initially thought this one may have been over the river as there is a post there with the same features. But we narrowed in on gz and soon had this trig bagged. Thanks again

Not quite sure how I missed this one on previous visits to the park such as our CITO, but anyway parked over the road and walked under the bridge next to the river and across to the pole. Strange sort of trig - I thought the locations were generally chosen to be high!
We came to Lane Cove National Park today to search for Australia's first cache, Lane Cove. Whilst there we noticed that there were two Trig Points close by. This Trig Point was found quite quickly. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. Whilst at the location we were pleasantly surprised to see a large skink very close by and there was plenty of activity in the water, possibly a large fish or two or a platypus. A lovely spot to spend 10 minutes. TFTC
Never noticed this before. Nice day for a walk in the LCNP.

Found on the NSW leg of our Round Aust trip
We had a bit of a late start to the day today as we were off to LUNA PARK! Before we headed out we went for a walk down along the river to see the weir, while we were here I checked if there was any caches nearby and this was the closest so we took off to find it. It was a nice easy find (The way we like them, lol.) .
TFTC,
Thanks from Margaret River West Australia!

Stupid phone. Had to wait until the power got up charging in the car before I could get the shot! Otherwise a nice simple trig after the CITO event for GCNSW

Parked across Delhi Rd to walk and grab this one. I met one the other soccer fathers riding round here. (The things we do to avoid watching training!?!)
A quick stop for this trig on the way through - which was no problem to find . Funnily enough I was working in the park on Tuesday, but at the other of the roadway, however that day I did not have a chance to get here before we moved to the next location.
In the Lane Cove NP and this one was spotted without the GPSr - the plastic cap is a giveaway. Funny that it's only 100m from Millwood, must have been a reason. It's just over the fence so you can see that the only other indicator that it's a trig is the word 'survey' stamped on the metal collar on top. It's a classic trig post as well.
Spotted a heron having a good fish nearby, caught about 20 little ones as we watched.

Not as picturesque as the nearby stone 'Millwood Trig' -- but nevertheless an official NSW Department of Lands TS!
Simple post and 'knob' set up in a beautiful spot right at the Lane Cover River.
Thanks to rogerw3 for re-discovering this trig and publishing it.

Found today while in the area looking for a gravity station. The standard steel pillar is in place with the usual Trig plate and tri mount for Theodolite with provision for mounting a beacon if required.
