Out with fitzy_1965 to take advantage of the bonus points on offer this week.
Having solved most of the Princes Highway Puzzles, they were our main target today. All were found quickly & easily unless otherwise mentioned.
Made a few detours for trigs too. Certainly a long walk to pick up these four trigs....all so different.
Bush bashing is best done with a long shirt and jeans that aren't already torn! Came out with a fair number of scratches and nearly fell over when my jeans got hooked on a long branch.....managed to follow wild pig trail for the most part which made it a tad easier.....well, sort of.

GCA 2,078. Found during a run down the Princes Highway with minniek today.
Having solved 21 out of 22 existing puzzles in the Princes Highway Puzzle Series we headed out for a run today to grab as many as we could for a last day grab of bonus dZ points. Next find of the day. A bonus Trig along the way. The 80m bush was pretty tough !

While in the area getting the Waymark/Trig Point (Madden New) I thought I would grab this one as well. It was getting a little bit late from hunting for Madden New on the wrong side of Princes Highway from having the wrong coordinate in the GPSr, but I did initially find a very similar tower very close, which had me quite confused. Now in the correct area it was just a matter of getting close enough on the tracks, and then daring to head off into the thick scrub.

On a 'gong escarpment trig road trip with rogerw3.
Parking along the highway and a short walk over a stone mound side track, then the service road ... an initial view of the tea tree enclosed terrain was disconcerting but rogerw3 peered and pondered and sussed a fading track that wandered through the prickly bush but unerringly ended at the trig, or its poor remains.
Tapping around, though, also unearthed a nearby Permanent Marker that with a little effort opened the hatch for the number- 23758 - and a dig of the light soil revealed the pin.
Worth the effort and the adventure.

Out on a Trig hunt with Whitemushroom.
A bit of bush bashing to get to the remnants of this one, only the vane and a bit of mast is left to slowly rot away, there is an anchor point for a guy wire and very close the PM 23758, this was placed in 1973 after the Trig was destroyed and replaced by "Madden New".

Yep, this one has seen better days. What's left of the vanes are still attached to the short pole....lying on the ground. Bush bashed the last 50 metres to it.

This Trig wasn't too hard to find. I had to bush bash for a while but it was a bit easier the closer I got, however long pants would have been a help. There is not much left of this one just some rusty metal and a short piece of the post.

We pushed on to find this one after Madden New not expecting much. Did almost a complete circle trying to avoid a bushbash, following the tracks and roads until finally we had about 50 metres of horribly prickly scrub before locating the remnants at GZ. A poor old burnt down post and rusty vanes is better than nothing. A few rocks nearby may have been the cairn but it must have been unpiled when Madden New was built.
For historical trig buffs only.

A really bushie one this one! After parking on the nearby road it is only a few hundred meters away. But those last hundred meters are really hard and thick bush to find the rusty remains of this trig!
