Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ and to photograph it.
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Milbrodale (New)
Serial number is: TS5551.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself. This one is a 'well-kept' concrete pedestal, with white plastic post and black semi-circular vanes; with a name plate of Milbrodale (New).
Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to access. These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on 'Log this Cache' and placing an 'Archived' log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty/terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably.
Access: Permission needs to be obtained from Ian and Dawn Russell, with access to the house which is a 'kilometre' past the trig, on the same light, crushed gravel track, that goes in from the gate at: S32° 41.711' E151° 3.514'. As ALWAYS 'in the country', close gates after you that were closed, and leave the open gates as they were.
Edit 3/12/2017: Changing TP5981, from "Meurant", at: S33° 44.498' E150° 56.381',
to: Milbrodale trig, TS5551, which is reachable, with permission.

Logs
We shot from Cobcroft Rd, about 750m from the trig.
Anyway, I noticed that there was one I noticed on SIX Maps NSW, and added to the Database, that wasn't too close to open cut mining, and that was TS5551 - Smilbrodale
I approached from Charlton Road, and then Cobcroft Road. to get to a closed farm gate. Not knowing which one to enter I ended at a property that didn't own the land the trig is on, but they pointed me in the direction. I went down, after passing right by the trig, to the Ian & Dawn Russell property, to ask for permission, but only found someone caretaking, while they were on holidays.
So on the way out I stopped, and took a few photos, at 0944, Sunday, 3 December. A nice clean Trig, as a concrete pedestal, with plastic post, and weathered vanes, and a Name Plate, of Milbrodale (New).
To the north there looked to be the remains of a cairn, but it wasn't on closer inspection.
Changed to: Milbrodale (New): TS5551, in the Hunter Valley, near, wait for it, Milbrodale! Access from Cobcroft Road.
