Found on a bushwalk from Waterfall to Heathcote. Enjoyed following the white dots and the scramble to the top. Good views and a great day out.

Great little scramble up to this trig from the scout grounds following the white dots. A fun trig to find. Shame there's no vane anymore.
We were on Kenshi's grey wolf badge walk when we saw the West Maccot mountain. And at the top were the leftovers of a once proud trigpoint.

A steep climb here and there and the track a little over grown in places but with the help of the white markers it didn't take long to get to the Trig. Only the Trig plug left in the rock now with some indication of where the tripod once was. Still some nice views all round from here.

I always enjoy coming over to Heathcote NP for a bushwalk. Today we did an enjoyable 10km walk: Waterfall - Lake Toolooma - Mt Westmacott - Bullawaring Track - Myuna Ck - Mooray Track - Waterfall. Lots of ups and downs in surprisingly warm conditions (the sun was hot and no breeze to speak of).
I've been to Mt Westmacott a few times now but have never gotten a photo of the old TP plug that is here, so today was the day to remedy this. Plug found and photographed.

Well, interesting. On planning to head back down to Sydney for some more caching and trig hunting I had pulled out the OLD Campbelltown 1:25,000 map, and then pulled out my index card for it, and this was a TRIG that I found @ 1432. 20/7/1985 (Saturday), with a name plate the same I assume as what it is labelled as on the map - Sebastopol. Then headed on to a further 7 trigs, with photos also taken at Woronora, Helensburgh, Bottle Forest, Bottle, Engadine, Loftus, and Fingerboard. (On the Campbelltown, Appin, and Port Hacking maps) And also logging a find of 'Perfect Grid Reference' GR 111111 on the Appin map. In Aus Geo 66 format that is.
Some ten years after that (after being married for 8 years) the collection of photographs was thrown out while I was at university!

As a part of a scout nav exercise, our troop came up here in less than optimal weather today, and I took the opportunity to snap the necessary trig pic - though I had to scrape sand away to make it at all visible, and being wet, I could not blow it away to get a clean view of it.
The views here are great, we could even see the city when the rain was not falling.
Sadly we did not have time to do the full WP chase for the physical cache out here, as we had to get back to finish packing and leave the camp (almost) on time.

Having decided to have a go at this interesting Trig Point, I got to Waterfall Station after a 4 hours train trip, only another 1 hour walk along fire tracks and another 20 minutes up a goat track, well marked and fairly easy but it gets a bit steep and tricky getting over the last cliff face. But at the end the top of Mount Westmacott is reached and the Trig is an easy find.
Interestingly there is only a plug left with the usual 'convict arrow' typical of Trig markings, at one stage there must have been a tripod type frame over the plug as you can see 3 places where the legs would have been set into the rock. the photo may show this (I hope) now for the return trip, I should be home by 8:00pm!

Out for a Mt Westmacott walk with Wilbert67 this morning, stopped by to look at where the trig used to be. The plug is still there, but not much else. The view, however, is always great.

Found the trig location and the clear remains of the trigpoint. Unfortunately it is not as it use to be but the track up MtWestmaccot and the views from GZ are to good to delete this Trigpoint.
All others have fun!
