Description

OK – maybe just maybe I found a new trig!

Or – maybe it doesn’t qualify… Certainly it looks like a trig – albeit a baby one… And it appears on the actpla site as Trig M8R! Relevant Plan CM150.

Now, I’m open to suggestion! – If the consensus is that this does not qualify as a trig, then I am happy to remove the listing! (Or change it into a plain virtual cache…)

pretty pathetic trig

GCA 1882. Found this unloved Trig on the way down to the river on a caching run today.

I've been eyeing off this Trig and the caches further down for quite some time. Nice to pick up a bit of unloved as well.

TFTC !!

Ribbit A very enjoyable stroll along between Shepherd's lookout and the meeting of the rivers. Collected this trig along the way. There was quite a strong breeze up on the ridgeline and it was neat seeing the rain off in the distance but thankfully it stayed away from us. TFTT Ribbit

Found this trig approximately 445pm with LuckyL10n. We came out here to find a cache or two and the trig and possibly grab some details for multis. We meet at the car park for the lookout and headed out to the lookout. I grabbed a GC cache along the way and near to the lookout we found a GA multi. After that we headed over to the trig and had it in our sights before long. The trig has the triangular stand and no top.

#GA547 - 16:45; A late afternoon run with MrDamage to collect a cache or two towards the end of the road so to speak. Made my way over to a familiar parking spot and when MrDamage arrived shortly afterwards, we made our way along to the lookout to collect the information for a couple of multis. Once that was taken care of we headed along a track which took us to GZ. I have had this trig on the 'to do' list for quite a while, so it was great to finally get it off today. Grabbed a pic of this one while in the area. Bit of a shorty!

Found during a nice walk on a cold day.

That's a funny little trig - it's almost as if it is a trig that forgot to grow up. Found on a beautiful, cold but sunny day of walking with Sol de Lune and McPhan.

23-Jun-12
Found while out this way grabbing a few other caches.....

568. Out and about on a brilliant Canberra winter's day. Not even half way here and Mr W and I were down to one layer (and to think I knew it when it was a pullet). Spotted the trig that seems to live up to it's "Cars" counterpart. Just like the other 'mater this one has seen better days. I wonder if his missing bit is at the bottom of the cliff too?

TFTT and the kachang.

A quick walk by grab on the way to some caches.

Trig or No Trig - I would voite for temporary trig. Either way a pleasant stroll in the morning sun.

A weird looking trig! Looked more like a surveyors tripod than a trig. Still it was a nice walk visiting it.

03-Oct-11
Found with Mr Roo and Abida on a trip to visit another bridge banter

A interesting walk to this one, nice views. Seen one of these on Black mountain TFTC

Whether it is a real trig or not I am happy to log it as it was a fun walk along the ridge behind the works to get here. Albida

Alas poor mtbikeroz, we all knew him well. Being the tough fella he is, he thought he would go for this trig without the correct equipment. RIP mtbikeroz. Mr. GreenMr. Green

I did find this in his camera, so it seems he made it. Very HappyVery Happy

Hmmm - I have walked past this one a few times and it never really clicked as a trig but I certainly would not want to say no that it isn't. I want to believe as well. Cool

TRIG POINT - A triangulation station, also known as a triangulation pillar, trigonometrical station, trigonometrical point, trig station, trig beacon or trig point, and sometimes informally as a trig, is a ***FIXED*** surveying station, used in geodetic surveying and other surveying projects in its vicinity.

Could this be seen or used by surveyors other than no more than 10m away ShockedShocked LOL.

TRIPOD - a three-legged support as for a camera or telescope, usually adjustable for height, more often REMOVABLE.

Me thinks this is the latter, despite the "official" naming by ACTPLA! Weird ExclamationBrick WallBrick Wall

But don't go away just yet Mr. Green, I guess I'll be checking it out soon when I go there chasing the expected nearby new cache.

A controversial call from the trig sceptic...

I want to believe!
It seems to be deep in Area 51

The Truth Is Out There!
The mysterious ACT Mapi calls it "Misc M8R
