We tried heading north today to escape the rain and partially succeeded.
Walked up in dry weather but by the time we headed back to the car the skies had opened up.
Took a while to find this one as it is very overgrown after checking a few old logs we found the right set of bushes and there it was. A very rusty old remnant trig point. There was a rock on the ground that looked like it used to have a name plaque glued on.
We had to stand right in front of the wooden gate with a no entry sign to see the trig.

We ventured up here ages ago, but clearly needed to read the page properly, as ended up with wrong photos. Today we went for another walk, and spotted the rusty trig remnants it seems. We couldn't spot the survey plate, maybe 7 years of grass growth has obscured it. There was a security guard wandering about, otherwise I would have jumped the fence and got a better close-up....

I’m a few years late in logging.. after looking in the gallery I remember this location. Not much to see. Looking back with what I know now, it reminds me of many Queensland Trigs. Images over at TP6060. Thanks for the cache

Headed up to the Morisset/Newcastle region with fitzy_1965 & albida33 to do some GC caching. Picked up a few GCA's along the way.
Great views from up here. A tad windy today though.

Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1005 - 9806 overall cache finds.
Found during a caching run around the Newcastle region. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especialy the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !
This one was a nice quick 'find' and a photo taken and posted. Great views ! Love the Lighthouse !

Access to this one is forbidden with a locked gate. We found the survey marker over the fence and this is the best photo we could get of it. Have also included a photo of the area you need to look over in order to find the marker. Thanks.
