Found this on a trip through Newcastle. Started out as torrential rain but turned into a lovely day.
This area reminds me of my Uni days living in Redfern and Newton. Strange mix of new and old and refurbished in Newcastle these days.

#GA5263 - 08:45; Last day in Newcastle, so headed out to knock a few more of the caches around the CBD. On my way back to the hotel to pack up and head for home when I stopped off for a snap of this trig as I passed. TFTT Geocaching Australia

Visiting Newcastle once again and finally attending tk thr local GCA caches after all GC caches had been found over the years. This was on eof the finds we made. Thanks to the CO for the cache!
Was staying in nearby apartments and took the opportunity to come over to Aldi for some supplies and wandered over to Cooks Hill to check out the passive trig.
Thanks for yet another opportunity to spot one more of these unmoving features in our midst.

I will assume this is a "passive trig." Something different.

We were lucky with the parking for this one. We couldn't see a trig marker at GZ but the photo shows a box behind the front of the building and an antenna that Mr Beetle said is definitely not a trig.
Perhaps it was the next one along with the pigeon sitting on top!!!!
Thanks.

In town today to check on one of our caches, grabbed a couple of trigs while we were here....
I had come down to Newcastle to do a First Aid course, and when that had finished I headed towards the beach. This afternoon I was able to find a parking spot and on approach could see where Rogerw3 had calculated the trig point to be. Took a couple of photos, and then headed off.
(With a name so similar I thought I had better have a go at this one)

Out on a Trig raid in Newcastle this is Trig number #8 for the day.
Another easy to find Passive Trig Point, the central part over the main entrance. Surprisingly busy little side street!

A strange looking trig, but location matches up with a trig in a listing I have from the NSW place names register. By the way, official name is "Cooks Hill".
I wouldn't have known this was a trig point if not for geocaching. Odd one anyway.
But it is interesting to note that the building was once a school, established in 1902, and now following on as the WEA HQ for Newcastle.

Found this whilst out on an afternoon geocaching. A very different type of trig point but it is still clearly visible from the street. There is a large turret sticking from the top of the building.
