Logs
I am staying overnight with a High School friend who accompanied me to Casino. I was sure that Ihad already logged this trig but Geocaching. com.au says otherwise. this afternoon I ambled up to take another photo so that I Canoga it. The strangest sight met my eyes as there was a couple up here with their rather heavily wool laden sheep on a lead. Not something you expect to see in the middle of a city. Anyway the views were spectacular. TFTT Geocaching Australia
Found on a trip around this part of Newcastle after visiting the dinosaurs at the local museum. I actually have a picture somewhere of a group of us standing at this obelisk after completing the Great North Walk.
The oldest son was very confused about how a water reservoir could be involved in an explosion.

Couldn’t stop for many trigs on this trip but this one seemed to be special. Excellent views, muggle free, and freshly repainted.

I don't know how many DOZEN, maybe even a hundred times I have seen this obelisk and never recognised it as a trig until trolling the GCA site.
I had finished a days worth of paper work at Wallsend, and was waiting for my older son to finish work so was looking for some trig stations to kill the time. (A few are behind locked gates that only open when I'm not around.)
I couldn't get an adequate 'selfie' @ 1850, so just got a photo of the obelisk.

Not hard to spot this one. A short walk and the required photo was taken. Thanks.
Spotted this way off. Never knew it was a trig, they come in different disguises around here.

Out on a Trig raid in Newcastle this is Trig number #5 for the day.
This one would be hard to miss, you can see it from quite a distance, this white obelisk sure stands out, built in 1935 on the site of the old reservoir, another great Passive Trig Point.
