Seems this lighthouse also doubles as the ‘old’ trig. Nice. Very HappyVery Happy Two caches in one.

Thank you.

Drove up from Kiama today on a very rainy day to visit the area. Came out to the headland and visited not one but two lighthouses in quick succession - gotta be happy with that! Great to be here and to enjoy the sights "out the front" of this wonderful city. Found with Ms MajuraHathi.
Thanks and cheers.

No one about on a Monday. Great spot.

07-Jul-19
Oz Geomuster 2019 Wollongong at Cataract Scout Park. The third day was spent with Fitzy and MinnieK around Wollongong to attend some 4events and do the Wollongong LAB caches and Coffee adventure to get the pathtag. We also did a few highlight caches along the way.

There were several trigs and markers awaiting a visit while we were done here by the harbour.

Thanks.

Arrived for a nearby GC Flashmob a bit early so used our time to snap a few trigs and virtuals. This was the third.

Photographed while here for the flashmob as part of the OzGeomuster.

In town for the Gong Mega and today attended a flash mob here at the lighthouse. TFTC.

07-Jul-19
At the lighthouse today for the OzMega flash mob event, so able to get a bonus GCA smiley.

07-Jul-19
I was here for the flash mob (earlier today), and the group I was going to go off with (to find another cache had an hour up the road) either found it the day before, or left earlier than I did, so I decided to enjoy myself exploring the rocks by the sea and find some caches here, and go do the other one by myself later Smile
TFTC - I had fun taking a weird selfie ...

07-Jul-19
discovered after the flash mob

can't miss this one

07-Jul-19
stopped by here for the flashmob event

As it's called on the map, Wollongong Head Lighthouse can be seen from Wollongong Breakwater Light. Not an easy place to get a park which might be the reason I missed the trig... Rolling Eyes

06-Jul-19
Found on our tour of Wollongong and surrounds - lots of great spots to visit.

05-Jul-19
How's this for a vantage point of this lighthouse! Decided to get a bit of a different view and perspective of this lighthouse than some of the other pictures in the gallery!
Taken from GC84AY5 nearby! Credit to DSD for snapping the photo for me.
Of course I also visited the lighthouse up close and personal too, an impressive lighthouse it is!
Thanks

I love this area.I used to live here many decades ago and it doesn't look muvh like it did then except for around this GZ. TFTT

Day 84 Mainland trip - OZGM
Now based at Cataract Park we headed out today with Tassie Trekkers and stopped to photograph this trig. The required photo has been added to the gallery. A beautiful area. At least the fog had lifted and the rain had ceased. TFTT

A two for one find while out exploring the Flagstaff Hill Park with the family. Snapped this one for the lighthouse virtual series and as an added bonus its a trig too!
We had a great day out exploring this area and highly recommend it as a family day out. Plenty of GCA caches and a few GC ones too around.
I was caching blind today (no GPS or app) so knew the lighthouses would be virtuals but didn’t realise how very close by was another trig (less than 20 m) which I missed, doh! Oh well a good excuse to drop back here one day.

Thanks for the trig!

Stopped by here at 16:25 while on my pre-welcome function walk for this two-for-one grab. A great spot on such a glorious day. Very Happy

Thanks Geocaching Australia.

I'm sure there were more seagulls than people here today, and there were LOTS of people. The good weather brings everyone out.

19-Jun-17
Today I made the area of northern Wollongong unsafe with my geocaching activities. 23 finds, six GCA ones, two puzzles. A good time was had by all! Errr me.

One historic engineers marker, two lighthouses and three trigpoints so close to each other!

09-Jun-17
This one certainly stands out on the landscape. Parked near here and rode to the various caches in the area. So much muggle activity happening in this beautiful area with drone fliers, surfers, walkers with and without dogs, kayakers, cyclists and even an exercise class happening.
Thanks.

Decided to head to the Gong for the day and after some personal business we picked up some Trig Points. Photos of these lighthouses were outstanding for my log requirements so we headed off to Flagstaff Point for a collection, having spent a couple of hours here we headed off on more adventures. Thanks for the cache/Waypoint.

Found on our 4WDing/camping adventure. Impressive lighthouse in a beautiful and accessible location.

#GA711 - 14:55; I was down in the Gong for the day for a meeting and after the formalities were over, dropped by to grab a few caches I had missed on my last visit a month or so back with Sol de lune. The most difficult thing about this cache was finding a parking spot in an area infested with muggles on a beautiful winter's day. Little did I realize until my return to the geomobile that I had reversed into a disabled spot Idea Luckily I didn't get a ticket Exclamation This was the last of three collected on a pleasant walk around this popular tourist area. Very windy here but worth to visit here and wandering around..
Great spot and lighthouse is one of my favourite.
Thanks for the TP. Mr. Green

This lighthouse certainly dominates the landscape and is in stark contrast to the old light on the breakwater and the new trig point stand. The required photo has been adde to the Gallery.

Found on the NSW leg of our Round Aust trip

We had to escape the house for a while and went for a drive into the Gong to see the sights. We stopped at Flagstaff hill and set off in the rain for a walk to Smith hill, after walking past the spot we doubled back and had a nice easy find (the way we like them, lol) hint was helpful. Also stopped and got some photos around the area to log some waymarks
TFTC,
Thanks from Margaret River West Australia!

0847 On the way over to get a better photo of this trig point I noticed a covered SSM (GBM282) which I also got a photo of. A nice sunny day, but a bit windy on the water.

On a morning jog I passed the lighthouse, and suspected there may be a trigpoint nearby. Yep, indeed, the lighthouse itself!

08-Apr-12
Thought I would take a trip down to Wollongong and find a few Trigs while there. This is the first one a very easy and highly visible Passive Trig Point, no trouble finding this one.

Found whilst visiting Wollongong for the weekend.

I had to come down for a job, ansd bring others in the ute, so was doubtful I would be able to cache at all, then I found there was a GC cache and three trigs in the park area we were working - YIPPEE!!
This was the first for the day - there were wokers cleaning/painting the lighthouse while we were there, and at one point we noticed one of the guys standing on the very top of the dome - rather him than me!

Impressive lighthouse. A real icon of Wollongong and a trig point to boot.

I was up here yesterday & took several pictures of the lighthouse in case someone had it as a waymark that I could visit. Strange that there are two trigs within metres of each another.
