Description
Cordeaux Colliery TS10142S
Official name of this Trig Station as per NSW Department of Lands is: Unknown Cordeaux Colliery is used for convenience.
Serial number is: TS10142S.
Last Inspected on: No Data.
Elevation is: 404 metres.
This trig point is on top of a tall mine building at Cordeaux Colliery just off Picton Road. You can spot it from a distance but can't get too close due to the area being fenced off. However from the top of the cutting alongside the road you can get a shot. If you get too close the height of the building will obscure the vanes.
Unusual position for a trig.
Logs
I have passed this trig many times, and I'm either driving, or I'm not ready to take the photo and we have passed it by.
I've always thought it was a light brown colour, but today it's grey!
MrT was driving, and I managed a quick photo in the small gap between the trees. It's getting harder to see it as the bush grows taller.

It was definitely a case of a drive by shoot at this one, as the car was very low on petrol, and I needed to get to Wilton. Not the best shot of a trig, but it will have to do.

HanorahTLG is at the scoutscamp at Mt Keira and need to be picked up at 14:00. Let's spend the morning grabbing some caches!
First one for today, I do recall one of these in Appin.

On a 'gong escarpment trig road trip with rogerw3.
On the return towards home a late in the day stop for a rogerw3 telephoto pic while the GeoReindeer readied for a quick depart - a valid decision as it proved, with 'security' a following escort.

Out on a Trig hunt with Whitemushroom.
A quick stop and photo for this one, you can't really get too close to it without trespassing on the Colliery.

#GA707 - 08:30; Missed this trig on the run through the Gong with Sol de lune a month back, when we did a winter games day out. Passing this morning on the way to Fairy Meadow for a meeting, so did a quick U-turn to find a spot where I could park safely and make my way through the scrub to get the money shot. The concrete barriers don't make it easy if you are headed east. With the shot in the bag, it was back to the geomobile before heading down the hill for the rest of the day. TFTC Geocaching Australia

Last one after a 2 day run through Sydney, The Shire and then The Gong on the way home. Walked into the bush to get a good shot.

Coming back from a caching trip near Penrith I was able to spot this on the building. Indeed difficult to get close!

Driving back along Picton Road we spotted this one on top of the tall building. Pulled up near the above coords to take the shot. Always good to log another new trig.
