Logs
The trig is a 1970's concrete plinth with a semi-melted mast and vanes. The"old" vanes and a bit of burnt mast lie nearby. There are some scattered rocks that may or may not have been the original cairn.
I got to the trig via the Long Nose Ridge trail (aka Nattai Road aka W11A and W11D Fire trails). For future finders, this is a boring route. But I don’t know if there is anything better. At least at the very end of the fire trails you get some spectacular views over the Nattai River towards the Blue Mountains. You have to walk 15kms to appreciate these views. I stopped here for morning tea.
The 2km bush bash from the fire trail to the trig isn’t exciting either. Lots of moderate to heavy scrub and no views.
There are some good views near the trig (about 30 metres west) to Mount Beloon and the Blue Mountains.
