Stopped at the lighthouse on the way home from Christmas. What a great spot for Brekkie, especially before the sun gets too high in the sky. Plenty of surfers about, but the waves on the beach to the north looked pretty gnarled.
After a few hrs of driving last night after work we ended up just south of Newcastle for a quick overnight camp. Up early for our big drive north to Queensland today. Found a few caches and labs on the way, but mostly driving.
The Rats and Mizmaz are joining on this one.

Wet and windy day on the headland! Got an almost break in the weather and snapped a photo. Top spot!
Visiting family for the weekend, and went shopping in town this morning, I decided to stop and enjoy the view here on the way through. I couldn't help but notice there were unfound (by me) GCA trig point, virtual, and history caches all here as well as a GC EC. Okay, so these were the only reason I came here. Hahaha.
Lovely spot. Bit windy, hazy, and chopped up water. Still enjoyed the views though. Love the blue paint highlights on the lighthouse too.
Photo with compass rose on concrete at the base of the lighthouse.

I was at the Lighthouse on Sunday for Earthcache Day and didn't realise at the time that there was two GA caches there as well. So back there I went today, which wasn't a problem since it's a great place to visit especially on a beautiful day like today.
Another trig for the weekend, this one with a bonus virtual also.....

Again one photo for 2 GCA finds - it doesn't get much easier than that. Also grabbed the history cache while we were up here.
A drive by too which is an added bonus.
Thanks.

#GA3859 - 07:40; On the way home from the Gold Coast with the geohoney and we stopped for the night at Port Macquarie. Decided to collect a few of the local caches on an earlyish morning run. This was the second stop and in addition to the trig, picked up a history cache and a virtual as well. The real benefit of the visit though was taking in the great views from Tacking Point in both directions and reading up on some of the local history. TFTC Geocaching Australia

Caching in the area with whitewebbs and snapped this lighthouse trig, beautiful area - enjoyed the walk along the beach as the road was closed for repairs. Required pic has been added to the gallery.

Day 79 Mainland trig (now heading to OZGM)
Out and about with Tassie Trekkers caching around Port Macquarie and surrounds and we stopped to photograph this trig. What a fantastic lighthouse trig. As the road directly to it is now closed for repair until September, we walked along the beach and up the stairs. There were people watching for whales, others surfing, swimming and fishing. A busy spot. TFTT

Heading into Port Macquarie for a stop over and lunch on the way home. First time in the area and I managed to snap 7 trigs all up. Gotta be happy with that.
Like other lighthouse trigs, the spikey thing at the top seems to be the go, however the survey marker is also easy to spot.

Out and about today hunting down all the trigs around Port. Great views up here today.
nice lighthouse in a picturesque location. the new plaques and infrastructure around here have come up a treat. I'll just sit here and enjoy the morning for a bit.
It is interesting to see that the coordinates for the Port Macquarie Lighthouse Trig Point (S31° 28.530' E152° 56.238') are slightly different to the coordinates for the Tacking Point Lighthouse (S31° 28.535' E152° 56.232'). Looking at the Gallery, the vast majority of photos for this trig point are of the lighthouse. We found a metal box labelled "Survey" in the concrete about 6m from the wall of the lighthouse. We wondered if this was the actual trig point, not the lighthouse itself. Three photos have been added to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie standing next to the "Survey" marker; a closer view of the survey marker; and Mrs y'stassie standing next to the lighthouse. Some research on this trig point may clarify this apparent inconsistency.
I was up in Port Macquarie for a family reunion, so a chance to grab some caches too. This one was on the list.

I wasn't feeling great and it was raining harder than it seemed from inside the car, but I did what was needed to claim this trig and snapped the appropriate photo with GPS. So soggy and windy out there that I couldn't get to the GC trad only 20ms away!
Very windy day or maybe it is always windy up here. Many surfers out in the big swell. Short lighthouse

Heading off to Queensland and called into Port for a couple of hours. Having recently taken an interest in seeing lighthouses we called by for a look. Were blessed to see a pod of wild dolphins heading northward. Thanks for the waymark, will add photo when I find it on PC.
Sorry late log it.
Travelling from Gold Coast to Melb.
Lighthouse is my favourite
Thanks for the trig

On a bike ride along the coast today and I made it to the lighthouse
A quick jog up the steps and I soon spied a survey point sitting in front of the building.
But wait !!
According to the cache notes the aim point is a bit higher up
So I got a photo with both of the points in it and me sticking me windswept dial into the view.
As a bonus there was a muggle wandering around with colour coordinated clothing to match the building
If she stood in the right spot, I couldn't see her

A very popular spot that we come to often, there's usually no shortage of breeze up here!

Photographed while locating some nearby GC caches. We spend some time watching the dolphins playing near the rocks.

0135 Had been here recently looking for a 'Multi' and found the nearby survey marker - 15747.
Came back another time, but there was a photographer taking timed shots of the lighthouse i didn't want to get in his way. Had a better look this morning, and don't know if it was the configuration of the satellites or what, but the GPSr was trying to take over the edge a few meters, well away from the Lighthouse !! Even the SSM would have been 6m away.
Took a photo of the lighthouse with a flash.

Saw a whale heading south and it was just a few hundred metres off shore - must be running late for it's norht migration and said "ohh blow it! I'll just head back down south and miss the rush!"

Been here before caching but no photo. Back today on a great sunny day, pic attached.
Up here for the Ironman Triathlon. A FTF away from home. I saw this trig nearby had not be found yet, so at first, I was only here for the lighthouse, but I was welcomed with a great view and a fantastic beach to see stretch along the coast. Was a great looking lighthouse too. Not just a FTF but my first lighthouse trig. A good find.
