MrT & I headed up to Lithgow and picked up rogerw3. Our aim was to get Walker Trig in Marrangaroo NP. But after we got closer the road was closed with work being done. So headed back to Wallerawang to birdwatch. Then saw it was only a 10km detour to Mt. Piper chimney so headed to Mt.Piper Powerstation while the Chimney is still there!

#GA3309 - 14:15; It was an early start to day two of the LuckyL10n, Sol de lune journey or destination tour as we take the long way to Bathurst via Dunedoo, Gulgong, Mudgee and a few smaller towns as well. Collected a few caches close to Dubbo to start the day before hitting a few more along the highway as we headed to Dunedoo, Gulgong and Mudgee for a couple more in each town. After passing through Mudgee, we were well on our way down the Castlereagh Highway when we took a short detour up the power station access road to grab a snap or two of this trig. Day 2 of the 3 day run around mid NSW area with LuckyL10n....
Now on the run from Mudgee to the Bathurst turn off and we had a couple of stops along the way. Spotted the trig...how could you miss it really...and soon had the required photo snapped.

GCA 1933. Found this one during a caching run through this area with minniek.
We were driving along and when we saw this impressive structure I suggested that it might be a passive trig. Checking the website and we were spot on - awesome !

I'm not sure about these static trigs but then, a trig is a trig. And you CAN certainly see this one for a long way!!
A day roadtripping alone around the general area. Could have, and likely should have, made a way close but the stack can be seen near and far from all points of the compass.

Mudgee trip 2013. I had seen these things in the distance for ages and they are might impressive up close, or at least as close as you can get. Thanks

Joint FTF with rogerw3 while heading for Genowlan Trig.
Easy to see this 'passive trig' (registered by the old NSW Department of Lands)but we drove fairly close before taking our photos.
Thanks to rogerw3 for letting me know about this one.

Out and about on a Trig finding mission with pjmpjm.
This one was our second of the day, no problem seeing this one, it is big enough!
Rather strange it has been ignored for so long.
