Got the bike out today for the first day of spring and thought I would head up Bell's Line of Road and bag a few Trigs. It was a little cold still and there are still some areas around Blackheath and Mt Victoria that are closed due to the fires over the Christmas period but a great day all round. Now this is an epic trig. Also a great monument to the great engineering of Major Mitchell. Nice and easy spot to get to and well worth the stop

On our way out to the Coxs River Road, we made sure we grabbed what trigs we could get to. This is a fancy trig.... We also found the Engineering Marker at the trig, then DNFd the GC cache nearby...
Passing by on the way to Lithgow I pulled in to this area. I have seen it on our way past many timed but never stopped. Trip Mascot "Bowra" is dwarfed by this. TFTT
I've always wanted to stop and check this area out. Unfortunately my knees didn't allow me to explore. But I never knew this obelisk was here. I enjoyed reading the history too.
Beautiful day for caching in the mountains; visiting from Perth WA.

On my way home from an Event at Lake Lyell, and stopping off to get a few trigs (many being Unloved).
Found the memorial @ 1728. A bit overcast.

Driven past here so many times but never stopped just like Mt Boyce. I spotted this as I drove past last time but it was too late then. Today I took a break and had a good look at this memorial with its plaques on every side. Nice one.

I call this 2 off caches for 1 visit – completed a Geocache & completed this trig – we also had lunch here too, top spot.

First trig of the day. I've been here before, for the nearby GC cache, but didn't realise at that time that there was also a trig in the area.
An impressive trig with lots of information about the history of the spot.
Today pjmpjm and I managed to get to this Passive Trig Point. Right now it is in the midst of the construction site office and depot for the road work going on.
We managed to go through the site as nobody was there on a Sunday, the rest of the week is very busy with heavy machinery and many workers around the place so you would not be allowed to go through.
We got the needed photos and left quickly.

Joint FTF with rogerw3!
We drove here on a Sunday, when all construction work was at a standstill, and simply walked down from the nearest street, through the construction site, and over to the obelisk. Nothing was fenced off and absolulely no-one was around.
This passive trig (so designated by the NSW Department of Lands) is also a National Engineering Marker, because of the nearby Victoria Pass.
Lots of work going on to make this crucial road section more navigable -- but it will take some months more, at least.
'Three Thumbs Up' because of the marker . . .

Unfortunately the Reserve this is on is out of bound for the duration of the road works.
I was there today and one of the workers there told me it would be another 8-9 months for the current work to be completed, but the Reserve could be still out of bound as it is used as a site office and supply depot and could continue in that role for much longer.
