CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as: • Surveying • Agriculture • Construction • Emergency services • Mining • Scientific research • Asset management CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State. How does it work? The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.
Logs
Stopped here @ 1740 to take a photo of the CORS 'device' sitting up on the roof of the Council building.
Actually, now that I've looked at Roger's photos, I realise that I did see it, I just didn't recognise it, as it looks different to other CORS trigs I've seen.
At the time I blamed my caching mojo being lost after DNFing all the nearby micros
This one I found just before dropping off rogerw3 in Clwydd.
It is only recently that the information needed was found and the exact position and the type of mount was found.
Today I can confirm that it is indeed here although it uses a different antenna than expected.
