Today we were going to find the 10,000th hidden cache from the Geocaching Australia site. Of course there was enough time to find others too!!!
We found the surveyor marker but not the trigpoint. Are they the same?
Edit: So the text is "This is also a permanent marker PM2071 in a PM box." which I read as "There is also a permanent marker PM2071 in a PM box.". Oh the confusion...

Parked just past the end of the Armco and walked back to GZ. Once the GPS settled down the TP was found easily

Found on a weekend trip to the Blue Mountains with Sol de Lune. We parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up towards the trig, where it was uncovered after a little bit of searching. Nice area. TFTC GCA!
Grabbed with Toy Hunters during our 2 run around the Cerberus Mountains....
Walked up from the car park and soon had the trig covered and the photo snapped.

Took a little while to find. I usually have a look at the photos to know what I'm looking for, but forgot this time. Oh well, a little effort hurt anyone. TFTT

Nearby, and a last of the local trigs to track down. Have not seen (or perhaps realised the significance) this concept for a trig site before. The top was only partially closed giving away the position in the layer of leaf litter and rain runoff, with the Trig marker revealed after a 'cleanup'.

I parked on the low side of this one and had a short stroll to GZ where the camera died and I had to rely on the phone.
7 trig day for the Heptathlon and this one made number 6. I liked this one, quite historic
On a trig run for the geosportz Heptathlon event today with strike-a-light. This was a good find down a very hisoric road.
I went back to this location to easily find the PM box withholding this Trig peg. I was so close on my first visit, I just didn't look hard enough. Good to make the find on this.
It was very satisfying to find this Trig today with pjmpjm.
We knew we were looking for a PM cover box, and expected it to be a difficult find most likely buried under dirt and leaves. We did search for quite a while the closest thing we could see was a burrow for some unknown animal. As we were about to admit defeat the PM hatch was spotted in the debris and we managed to open it after a short struggle.
The area has now been cleaned a bit so that the original white painted surround is now visible. This should prove to be an easier find next time. By the way this is registered as both a Trig (TS2800) and a PM (PM2071).

Another FTF with rogerw3!
Because of Josh's note, we knew we were in for a bit of a search.
The old trig -- probably a stone cairn -- was long gone and we looked everywhere for the 'newer' PM cover.
Just as we were getting tired of scuffing about in the leaf cover, and were about to give up, we came across the dark gray-brown PM cover. Amazing!
All was in good order, but the plate doesn't carry the name of 'Lapstone' -- the PM itself is designated as trig by the NSW Department of Lands. So it's both a PM and a trig.
rogerw3 cleaned up all around the cover, so now you can see where the surveyors once painted it white. This was all covered up with leaves when we were searching. So future trig hunters should have it a bit easier.
And the coordinates are spot on.
Thanks to rogerw3 for publishing this one . . .
