I met up here with Mighty Minions, Banj5150 and Team737 for a weekend of caching around Kurrajong and then up to the Blue Mountains. This trig was easily spotted but in spite of a good search and scraping aside leaf litter, no trace could be found of Moran Old. Many thanks for the trig listing.

The team was out today on a little road caching trip to celebrate our 4000th GC find, so headed down the Putty Rd and into the Blue Mountains. We managed a handful of trigs as well as poising ourself at 3999 for the main event (in the rain it seems) tomorrow....
A quick find here, then we set out to find the 'old' one....

headed out with Outdoornut22 to bag a few quick trigs on a very rainy day but we needed to get out of the house, this one was pretty good, we couldn't locate the old trig but will come back when it is a bit drier for a better look

While it was bucketing down with rain today both myself and Sophoutloud needed a good excuse to get out of the house, we plotted some more urban trigs that were close to road ways so we didn't have to spend to much time out in the rain. found this one nice and easy it is still in great condition, didn't spot the old one but neither of us felt like scratching around in the very wet leaf litter but we live close by and will be back.

On a short trip as I was at Wilberforce, I continued up the Putty road to complete a couple of trigs on this windy day. Nice parking at trig so it’s a drive by in my book. 2 for the $ of I visit as I completed the old 1 also – many thanks.

I spotted this before the Moran Old trig and was surprised they were so close together. Added my hat for the photo as it is Australia Day. 41 degrees here so quickly headed back to the air conditioned car. TFTT

Took the Putty road on my to Newcastle today and stopped and grabbed a few trigs along the way. This one was nice and easy I stopped on the side of the road safely and after a short walk found it just off the track. Good to see the name plate still in place. TFTT.

#GA2345 - 14:10; Day two of the Macquarie mayhem cache hunt with Sol de lune and andrewbt. After a big day one with 56 out 59 finds, we were optimistic about another successful day two. A few cold ones, a few logs and a few more claims for the States of the Nation game set the scene for a good night's sleep and a spring in our step as we packed up and hit the trail again today. Hope the CO's are enjoying all the Karma points rolling in as we get through our logs . Parked the geomobile and wandered in to GZ for a double treat with two trigs, old and new (this one). Popped up here this afternoon with teamMerlin. After an easy walk to GZ the two trigs were quickly spotted. Well worth the visit.

Took a late afternoon drive up the Putty Road in order to get both of the trigs at this location. Parked nearby and after a short walk spotted the main trig on approach. Vanes and mast no longer at site, but there is a plastic cap on top of the main concrete pillar.

A quick find after parking on the road and walking up. As I was getting to the coords spotted the trig. Took the photo of the old first and then the current trig. Thanks for the trig

On a trig wandering day with rogerw3 ...
An easy park and walk through light forest to this trig in excellent condition. No mast or vanes but with capping top and name plate.

Stopped nearby when on a trip to Colo. A short little bush walk from the car and this trip point appears (not visible from the road) With a movable and a trig point in close proximity it was a good stop

Great trig a short stroll from the car while heading to Colo to check out the camp ground.

Third and last Trig found with pjmpjm, undoubtedly the find of the day, just off the main road near what used to be a 4WD track but is now almost gone and in place gone completely.
We did find the Trig without trouble, in great condition the mast and vanes that used to be there have been removed at some stage and a neat plug put over the base instead. Name plaque still in situ and in great condition.

Joint FTF with rogerw3 in the middle of our afternoon of trig hunting in this area.
Moran Trig proved to be the best trig find of the day, with pedestal and side plate in good order and with even a PM located quite nearby.
Unfortunately, we only found 3 of the 13 trigs we searched for -- most or all of the others evidently having been destroyed in some way.
Moran Trig sported a nifty plastic cap that replaced the usual vanes. The maps showed a convenient little path to the trig through the bush, but we found it mostly overgrown. Still, it was an easy trek of less than 100 metres from the road.
Thanks to rogerw3 for re-discovering and publishing this one.
'Four Thumbs Up' for the most interesting find of the day!
