Logs
From the images, and the weather over the past couple of years, I think we needed our metal detector and a shovel today.....
This one took a bit of searching! Using both the GPS and phone app I walked round and round in circles. Both had me within a metre or so of each other. The area had been recently mowed and the grass must have been pretty long as I had to kick big clumps out of the way. After a few minutes of kicking I finally unearthed it. Photo taken then back to the airconditioned car. TFTT
In the area with some time to spare so thought I'd give this one a go. Great view from here with Blue Mt in distance. I couldn't open survey point.
#GA1309 - 13:50; Day 3 of a caching mission in and around Sydney with Sol de lune. Sdl had logged this one on a previous visit, so it was that I set off up the path solo. Like earlier finders, it took a little bit of looking around before I spotted what I sought. TFTC Geocaching Australia

I stared about at the ground a bit, before I spotted this. It was covered in grass.

Over this way this afternoon so took a break to locate this trig.
It wasn't what was expected so took a moment to find as the hatch plate had been covered by mown grass.
A quick happy snap when the cover was clear.

An easy park and stroll up the path ... empty grounds, and well looked after. Maybe it was the time of day but it was surprising how few folk were around. Good view of the distant mountain outline. No tool to open, but I see from an earlier log the Tregear nameplate in under the lid.

went here about 6pm before camera club got to where my car GPS wanted me to go bur how do I get to where my handheld wanted me. So I went for a walk at and found a path which took me pretty close to the spot. Now how hard is it going to be to spot it in the dark, actually not really. Thanks for the cache. Nice view from here with some of the lights

Opened it open to see the name plate still there...excellent.

TFTT. Great view from up here. Not an easy one to find, but I got lucky and had it very quickly.

Another survey hatch trig in suburbia which hasn't been found in over a year. Today I was cleaning up my western Sydney trigs and this was a simple walk up the hill. I wish I had my big screwdriver with me to open the hatch to see the plaque but had left it behind. A quick snap and off again.

Geoson and I out for a few caches and trigs on a fantastic Sunday afternoon.
We did not read the description nor the previous logs when we attended this one.
When we arrived at GZ we looked around and did not see what we expected to resemble a trig and started to assume that it had been demolished.
Freshly mown grass at GZ (coords were pretty much spot on) we notice the PM cover under some grass clippings and opened it to find a nice surpise
Remarkably the name plate and pin was intact.
Fantastic views from up here as well.

Third and last Trig find for the day with pjmpjm.
Thanks to Hoogies we knew this one was there so no problem finding it. We soon were at GZ and spotted the round type PM cover box. after opening the Trig plug was noted in place and the name plaque is still there, this is the first thing to be souvenired usually as it is only held in place by two screws.
Great location with nice views.

Another interesting find for rogerw3 and me during our afternoon of trig hunting in the general area north of Penrith.
As Hoogies (the FTF) reported, this old trig has become a round 'PM' type hatch, with 'Survey' marked on the top.
Today's wonderful surprise was finding 'Tregear TS' written on the plaque fastened underneath the PM's lid, where the PM number would normally appear. Very few PM-style trigs have plates with their actual names. And the location pin was still in place as well.
Nice views from the hill. You can see why this spot was originally chosen for a trigometric station.
Thanks to rogerw3 for his research that led to the publication of the trig.
'Three Thumbs Up' for the intact name plate and nice view.

FTF! Found the survey box almost instantly with very accurate co-ordinates. Box was full of dirt but a quick dig revealed the trig peg. Then I notices the name plate on the bottom of the lid with "Tregear TS" An interesting first the find for me!
