Logs

24-Feb-18
Found this passive trig on the way home from some of it's more active (in their day) counterparts. At least it wasn't so passive as to be lying down.

#GA1278 - 15:10; Day 2 of a Sydney caching mission with Sol de lune. The gate was open, so we were able to drive in and get a close up shot of the tower today. It looked like workmen were in the area doing some tree lopping. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Managed to drive in and almost to the tower...almost. The head around to the right and snapped the required from that angle.

Found this trig with Team Merlin heading to an Geocaching event at Galston.

23-Jan-17
Found this trig with JJCC on our way out to the two events held at Galston. Ended up stopping along The Northern Road to take the photo.

18-Jan-17
I have 'been around the block' before, but this time I knew about this Passive Trig, so kept an eye out for a suitable spot for a photo of the transmission tower. Photographed @ 0909 hrs, Monday morning, 2 January, 2017; From near "Best trig".

16-Jan-16
Found this trig with alnic39 while driving around Dural and Galston area. Thanks for the trig. A bit hard to find a decent angle to take the photo though

I got this shot from the playing field at Galston. Not as thrilling as a pedestal and vanes, but hey!

30-Mar-14
A bit of a shame you can't get as close to this as the spirit of trigs would like, at least from the Old Northern Road end. Though looking at the maps after I got home I wonder if you could get nearer from the tracks east of it where the night caches are? Anyway grabbed a snap from the road.

14-Dec-13
I'd stopped on Old Northern Road to get a shot of this and also tried another access some time ago. Today I went up an unmarked side street to get a bit closer and got the pic. Nothing great.

08-Dec-12
Got to within 700m and took the photo.

17-May-12
Found this one next on the list and once I got to the locked gate, looked for the best vantage spot to take a photo. Found one. Thanx.

05-Apr-12
Found this Passive Trig Point with pjmpjm today on our afternoon Trig hunting.
Unfortunately you have to stay on the main road as the entrance to the Substation compound is gated and clearly marked no entry. Nonetheless the tower is tall enough to be easily visible.

2TF with rogerw3 while on a trig hunting expedition in the Dural area.

We had to settle for a distant shot from Old Northern Road because the entrance gate was locked and posted 'no entry' . . .

Thanks to rogerw3 for publishing this one.

Was very surprised to spot the tower as I rode past this afternoon. It must have been shrouded in fog last weekend. Nayway the tower IS visible from Old Northern Rd from a number of spots.
Another FTF for me in Dural.

31-Mar-12
This trig/tower is well and truly behind Transgrid private property fences and is not visible from Old Northern Road. I may go back with my pushbike during the week and see if I can gain access.
