Logs
After jogging in the area (trails pretty busy but still good for lockdown-compliant social distancing!) I noticed this nearby. I parked at the recommended spot and headed along the trails, needing to cross the fence into the horsey section (but no horses around). It is not in great shape, but doesn't seem to have deteriorated since the last visit TFTT
Another style of trig for the day and I've never seen anything quite like this before. I suspect it has been moved as the 1972 survey shows it right in the fenceline, with the fence deviating around it. The fence is now straight with the trig outside of the line.
One side of the post has a government broad arrow chiseled into it, indicating it marked a corner or boundary line of crown land. If nothing else, it indicates how well the post has lasted.
The vanes have "Waller" and "Soutar" pressed into them. The latter, a Scottish surname, is perhaps that of the original surveyor.
Overall, it's not in great condition but it's surprising that it's survived so long and it's certainly quaint.

Luckily there were no horse galloping about the place. This one just seems so out of place...but there it is.

On my way to collect some caches around Davidson and stopped by here on my way. Ended up picking a good entry point, parking near "Surgeon White Reserve". No muggles in sight today as I made my way towards this trig so close to someone's back yard.

Collected a few trigs while on a work trip to Sydney. This was one and it almost looked home made.

Strolled by this trig whilst in the area chasing a couple of other nearby caches. Stopped and took my happy snap

Yep, this one has seen better days.....and after almost 2 years I was glad it was still there and hadn't be stolen!!! But who want it I guess.....

Another one that takes a little navigation and negotiation off a fence. Odd trig but definitely there and yellow!

On our way back from West Head I thought we should finally stop by and log this one. Parked at the end of the road where the sign says "Surgeon White Reserve" and some primary age kids wearing what looked like school uniforms (on a Sunday) were walking dogs along some sort of obstacle course. Something to do with the pony club which was in full swing as we approached GZ. No one bothered with us as we went over to the back fence where the vanes were placed in rocks that weren't in the least bit trig-like. Still the vanes are genuine even though they were yellow - have only seen that on "Madden New" down towards Stanwell Park.
Took the photos and made our way out. An odd location for a trig.

It has taken a long while for me to get this Trig, but today I decided to go for it. Got off the bus at the end of Horace Street and walked to the Trig. I proved to be an easy walk and no bush bash involved. A strange one this one just a post with folded yellow vanes and a few rocks at the base. Nevertheless the vanes are inscribed "WALLER" so no doubt about it.

Needed a cache to make 4100 finds, so why not make it an *FTF* ?
For some reason this trig hasn't been logged so thought I would have a shot at it on the way home as it wasn't far out of the way. Easy access from the north at the end of Catherine Street. There is a gate marked Avondale that leads to the pony club here, but an area next to the gate you can walk through and then along to the back of the houses where the trig is located.
Funnily enough it's not at the top of the hill, and the base looks like it might have been put back up at some stage by the locals. With yellow vanes and rather bent it isn't the usual style. Still it had directions and so on stamped into the vanes of the top. Nice different one for the next minor milestone.

hmm that's a shame- used to walk here once a week and think I even found the vane. some good bush views at the end of road
