Description
A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.
A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon. It is also accompanied by a metal disc, which is located directly below the center point of the tripod or on top of the pillar itself.Trig points are generally located at the top of hills or points of prominence in the landscape. Many provide unique views and challenges, with some being difficult to get to.
These points were regarded as valuable to surveyors, providing reference points for measuring distance and direction, and assisting in the creation of maps.
To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.
Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.
If you feel that you can add to the description of this trig point or adjust the difficulty / terrain ratings, please feel free to edit this cache and amend the information suitably. Vandalism of the cache description or other information will result in your account being terminated.

And there it is. Plain as a trig by the side of the road.

Caching in the area we snapped this trig on our way past. Required pic added to the gallery.
Found this one at 16:30 while out this way grabbing a few GC caches (including the 2-for-1 offering here (but I didn't say that )).
Thanks Geocaching Australia.

A quick stop and photo opportunity on our way to Kadina today.
Certainly a different type of trig marker, and it's authenticity is a bit dubious.

Some years ago we visited this location as the starting point for a great geocaching adventure. We didn't realise at the time that the structure was indeed the Hummocks Trig. When we checked the structure today, the starting point for the adventure is still in place. Three photos of the Hummocks Trig Point have been adde to the Gallery: Mrs y'stassie at the Trig Point pyramid; the survey marker on the ground and the sign identifying the Trig Point.
Found with GrimRaider today on our SA caching road trip. The aim today was to pick up as many trigs as we could on the way to Port Augusta. I think we grabbed 7 in the end - this was no 4. Thanks for sharing

On the 12th of January 2012 we headed out on a family camping trip and on the way we found our 1st geocache near Tailem Bend.
On the 12th of January 2013 we headed out on our YP family camping trip with 1560 finds under our belt. Over the 12 day trip we saw some fantastic scenes and did a heap of cool stuff. This really is a beautiful slice of our country. To top off an already wonderful trip, we also found 145 caches, 6 trackables, 1 pathtag and attended 1 event.
Thanks for helping us celebrate our first year of caching, and thanks for the cache!!

Our 11th cache type of the day out of a total of 13 different types.
This one was conveniently located on our way to Adelaide was the perfect trig to hunt down for our challenge.
