Description
This trig appears on old maps but has been covered over by a paved lookout area created to overlook the golf course below. Trig can be accessed by a paved path that starts from the SE corner of the golf course public car park.
Logs
Called in after Parkrun at Dawesville. Great views from the top, getting a bit warm for us Taswegians. Took pic of marker sign
An easy Trig to get too with just a short walk from the public golf carpark to GZ.
Found today, the gate was open, with no muggles to be seen, so I drove to within 120 metres of the Trig. Arrived at the spot, found the look out and the "hidden" trig. Snapped a photo of the info plate and the view
Rated: for Overall Experience
I had been researching trigs that appear on topo maps that have never been identified for the GCA trig caches. After coming down to the area I made my way up the hill through the bush and found the paved path that starts at the public car park for the nearby golf course. As it is off the side of the golf course there is no problems for members of the public to access the hill the trig is on.
The actual trig structure was destoyed when the golf course created the path and paved the top of the hill as a lookout for the course.
Some bits of the structure were thrown into the bush below and were only visible if one ventured into the bush.
The actual plate is buried with a box protecting it.
