CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

A quick and easy find for this CORS, compared to the Millicent trig trek

07-Nov-21
Out caching today with Mighty Minions, Team737 and Banj5150, firstly doing some higher terrain ones north of the river then heading south. After the previous bush-bash to Millicent, this one was a piece of cake! Many thanks for the listing.

07-Nov-21
We were in the Mooney Mooney, Brooklyn and Cowan area celebrating Mighty Minions' 4000th find with some great caches, had a day in the rain and then humidity, nabbing 11 finds and having an all round great time. Last trig for the day, a quick CORS... a welcome easy one after the bush bash to Millicent!

I learnt a lot today, I didn’t know what CORS were but out caching with great friends today we found this one, so now I know

Nice easy find at the start of our walk out to Taffys Rock.

With a day off, what better way to spend it than to get out and find some unfound trigs. Thanks GA, love the trigs.

07-Jun-18
After all the rain that we have had around Sydney over the last few days it has been good to have a bit of nice weather today. Decided on a drive up the Central Coast & Lake Macquarie after some of the trigs along the way where there are a few clumps around. In the end I got to 26 trigs after that there was a long drive and I ended up getting home at about 8pm.
The first one I looked for was Cowan CORS
Thanks for the trig took the required photo

As we came south from Newcastle we called into the Cowan Railway Station and located the CORS. It was certainly very close. The required photo has been added to the Gallery. Thanks for the cache.

#GA1264 - 12:20; Day 2 of a Sydney caching mission with Sol de lune was underway and after a couple of finds at our northern boundary, we were headed south again. After a couple of strolls through the bush, this was a nice quick park and snap at the railway station and we were soon on our way again. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

Quick stop and photo as LuckyL10n and I were caching in the area. Good to have a nice close one.

01-Jan-17
This was my closest unfound CORS trig which was needed for the SSS by the end if this week. A little bit of a drive but Zhaoy came along to hunt pokemon so it was good to have company! Easy spot right outside the station Very Happy

Have driven past here too many times to count. Since this was published I've driven past and seen the CORS but haven't managed to stop for the photo. Today I was out grabbing Evelyn trig nearby and came on up to Cowan station for this one. A quick snap and away - 62 weeks since it was logged.

04-Nov-12
Found as we parked ready for our walk from Brooklyn. My first CORS trig too.

04-Nov-12
I thought I'd found everything to be found around here but when we planned the Brooklyn to cowan walk for today, I had a quick check. Wow! Another trig right at the station. This is my first CORS trig, really fascinating, 2cm accuracy!!!

23-Sep-12
A nice easy drive by from the station carpark. First time I have been out to find a CORS, interesting that there is no signage to indicate what it is or who owns it. Must be a secret squirrel thing or something!

15-Aug-12
On a short Trig finding mission in Cowan today, and this was the first since it is right there as you get off the train.
Typical CORS station with mast and GPSr antenna. As all CORS station do this has a 2 centimeter accuracy.
